We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Stacy Jones a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Stacy, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I developed my confidence and self-esteem by taking the following steps:
I started by identifying my strengths and weaknesses. Once I knew what I was good at and what I needed to work on, I was better able to set realistic goals for myself.
I took on challenges and stepped outside of my comfort zone. The more I challenged myself, the more confident I became in my abilities.
I surrounded myself with positive people who believed in me. The support of my friends, family, and colleagues helped me to stay motivated and confident.
I celebrated my successes, no matter how small. Taking the time to appreciate my accomplishments helped me to build my self-esteem.
I also learned to read a person’s body language and understand the person I was working with. This helped me to build rapport with my clients and to provide them with the best possible care.
The most important thing for me was to realize that I am capable of helping people. When I saw the positive impact that I was having on my clients, my confidence and self-esteem grew exponentially.
I am confident that I can continue to develop my confidence and self-esteem by continuing to challenge myself, surrounding myself with positive people, and celebrating my successes.
My advice to other Massage Therapists who are struggling with their confidence is to focus on your strengths and to believe in yourself. Don’t be afraid to ask for help from your colleagues or mentors. And remember that everyone makes mistakes. The important thing is to learn from them and to keep moving forward.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a licensed massage therapist, and I help people relax and relieve stress. I am passionate about my work, and I am always looking for new ways to help people. I believe that everyone deserves to feel good, and I am committed to helping them achieve their full potential.
The most exciting thing about what I do is being able to help clients who are stressed or going through any type of emotional distress. I love seeing the look on their faces when they start to relax and feel better. I also enjoy helping people reconnect with their bodies and learn how to care for themselves.
Some of the products that I use in my practice are holistic and natural. I believe that the body has the ability to heal itself, and I use these products to help facilitate that process. I also believe that it is important to take a holistic approach to health.
I’m also planning to expand my practice in the near future. This will allow me to reach more people and help them achieve their wellness goals.
I’m excited to continue sharing my passion for massage therapy with others. I believe that everyone deserves to feel their best, both physically and mentally. And I believe that massage therapy can help them achieve that goal.
Here are some additional things that I would like folks to know about my brand:
– I am committed to providing my clients with the highest quality of care.
– I am always learning and growing, and I am always looking for new ways to improve my skills.
– I am passionate about helping people feel their best, both physically and mentally.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I think the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey were:
– Confidence: Confidence is essential for any massage therapist. When you believe in yourself and your abilities, your clients will feel it. They will be more likely to relax and trust you, which will allow you to do your best work.
-Knowledge: It is important to have a strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology. This will help you to understand how the body works and how massage can help to improve its function. It will also help you to identify any potential contraindications to massage therapy.
-Communication: Communication is essential for any massage therapist. You need to be able to communicate effectively with your clients in order to understand their needs and to provide them with the best possible care.
Here are some tips for folks who are early in their journey as a massage therapist:
-Get certified: The first step to becoming a massage therapist is to get certified. There are many different massage therapy schools and programs available, so you can find one that fits your needs and budget.
– Practice your skills: Once you are certified, you need to practice your skills. This means giving massages to friends, family, and colleagues. The more you practice, the better you will become at giving massages.
– Get feedback: It is important to get feedback from your clients and colleagues. This feedback will help you to identify areas where you can improve your skills and knowledge.
– Continue learning: The massage therapy field is constantly evolving, so it is important to continue learning. You can do this by taking classes, reading books, and attending workshops. I also provide continuing education classes here at the spa for licensed massage therapists, so I recommend connecting with similar organizations within your area who can help you stay current with industry standards.
I hope this advice is helpful!
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
As a massage therapist, I understand that feeling overwhelmed is a common experience. I have found that the following strategies help me to manage my stress and stay grounded:
– Take some time for myself. This could mean taking a bath, reading a book, or going for a walk. It’s important to give yourself some time to relax and recharge.
– Talk to someone you trust. This could be a friend, family member, therapist, or anyone else who you feel comfortable talking to. Sometimes just talking about what’s bothering you can help you to feel better.
– Do something you enjoy. This could be anything that makes you happy, such as listening to music, watching a movie, or spending time with loved ones. Doing something you enjoy can help to take your mind off of your problems and give you a break from the stress of everyday life.
– Get enough sleep. When you’re well-rested, you’re better able to cope with stress. Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep each night.
– Eat a healthy diet. Eating healthy foods can give you the energy you need to cope with stress. Avoid sugary drinks and processed foods, and focus on eating whole, unprocessed foods.
– Exercise regularly. Exercise is a great way to relieve stress and improve your overall mood. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise most days of the week.
-Practice relaxation techniques. There are many different relaxation techniques that can help you to manage stress. Some popular techniques include meditation, yoga, and deep breathing.
It is also important to set boundaries with your clients. This means not overbooking yourself and taking time for yourself outside of work. It is also important to say no to clients who are not a good fit for you.
Remember, self-care is not a luxury, it is a necessity. Taking care of yourself is essential for your physical and mental health. By following these tips, you can learn to manage stress and become a better therapist for your clients.
