Meet Starrla Noble

We recently connected with Starrla Noble and have shared our conversation below.

Starrla, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

This is a journey of self-acceptance, confidence, and resilience in the face of numerous challenges. It starts with childhood bullying related to my body and appearance, where I would hide my curves with oversized clothes to avoid attention. As I got older, I began to embrace my femininity during my senior year of high school, I started to dress in clothes that fit my body, wear makeup, and style my hair, inspired in part by my friends.

My college years were a mix of self-discovery, dealing with body image issues, and learning to embrace my unique features, like my “big butt.” After a painful breakup, I focused on myself, but a new relationship led to an unexpected pregnancy, which caused me to struggle with body changes, scars, and a loss of confidence. However, I eventually came to appreciate my body and started dressing with confidence again.

After dealing with a toxic 6-year relationship with an abusive partner, and the death of my mother, I found strength through therapy and self-care. Over time, I learned to accept myself fully, even the “broken pieces,” embracing the concept of kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, symbolizing that brokenness can be beautiful.

Through it all, I encourage the importance of self-love, perseverance, and not giving up, even in the face of life’s challenges. I also embolden others to embrace their own paths, seek help when needed, and remind themselves of their worth.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

No. 1: Definitely be patient.
Patience is not just a virtue; it’s a requirement when you’re building something meaningful from the ground up. When you’re starting a business by yourself, you’re not only managing tasks but also the pace of growth. It’s easy to get impatient, especially when results don’t come as quickly as you hope. But here’s the truth: good things take time. Don’t rush the process. You need to give yourself the space to learn, grow, and make mistakes. It’s tempting to compare your progress with others, but remember, everyone’s journey is different. The world moves at its own pace, and so should you. Whether it’s dealing with setbacks, unexpected challenges, or moments of doubt, patience with yourself and the world will help you stay grounded and focused on the bigger picture. Keep moving forward, even when things feel slow.

No. 2: Make friends with like-minded people—or just positive people.
Surrounding yourself with the right people is crucial, especially when you’re starting something big, like a business. Seek out individuals who inspire you, people who are passionate, driven, and who share similar goals or values. Having a support network that encourages and challenges you will help you stay motivated through the ups and downs. Positive energy is contagious! Avoid those who drain you with negativity or constant complaining. People who have a “nothing ever works out for me” attitude can hold you back, whether intentionally or not. Instead, find people who push you to be your best self, who celebrate your wins, and who offer helpful advice. And don’t forget about mentorship—someone who has been through the struggles you’re facing can guide you, give you invaluable advice, and help you avoid unnecessary mistakes. A mentor can help you see things from a new perspective and provide the kind of support you can’t always get from friends or family.

No. 3: Perfectionists don’t make money.
This one’s a biggie. As much as we all want to do things “perfectly,” the reality is that perfectionism can be paralyzing, especially when it comes to business. If you’re waiting for the perfect moment or the perfect idea, you’ll be waiting forever. The key is to start—even if it’s messy, imperfect, and full of unknowns. Think about it: every successful business, every entrepreneur, had to take that first step, even when they weren’t sure where it would lead. There will always be doubts, mistakes, and setbacks, but each of them is an opportunity to learn and grow. You can’t wait for the stars to align because they rarely do. The act of starting is where the magic happens. You don’t have to have it all figured out from the beginning. Just take that leap and trust that things will evolve as you go. I know it’s scary—I’m in my mid-40s, just starting my own business—but I’m proving to myself that it’s never too late to take that first step. And once you take it, you’ll see how quickly momentum builds. You’ve got this. Go ahead, get out there, and make it happen.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

I know it sounds a bit quirky, but hear me out. There are moments when the pressure of everything—whether it’s a rough day or the overwhelming feeling that I’m not where I want to be in my business—can start to get to me. It’s at times like these that I’ve learned to recognize when I need to step away from the grind and give myself a break. But here’s the thing: I don’t just want to veg out in front of the TV, mindlessly watching an episode of Dexter or scrolling endlessly through social media. That doesn’t really help me refocus. Instead, I grab a box of Lego’s Botanicals, and I set to work.

Building these Lego sets does more than just distract me—it engages me in a meaningful way. My hands are busy, my mind is active, but in a way that allows me to process thoughts in the background without the intensity of constant problem-solving. It’s like a meditative break for my brain. I often come up with new ideas or see problems from a fresh perspective. It’s like the task gives me a much-needed space to breathe and reset. Plus, when I’m done, I’m left with something tangible and beautiful—an art piece, no less—that I can display proudly.

It’s a small thing, but it helps me ground myself. In those moments when the stress is building up and I need to step away from my work, I know this is my little trick to unwind, clear my head, and ultimately come back to my business with fresh energy. And, bonus, I get to have a cool botanical sculpture sitting on my desk to remind me that even small, mindful breaks can have a big impact on my creativity and productivity. Sometimes, it’s the simple, unexpected things that help us regain our balance.
