Meet Stefanie Rouse

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Stefanie Rouse. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Stefanie , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Finding Purpose Through God’s Love and Sharing It with Others

There was a time when I felt like I was doing all the “right” things to find love and meaning. I was putting on a smile, working hard, giving my heart in relationships, and chasing after that picture-perfect love story I’d always dreamed of. But underneath it all, I was exhausted, constantly falling short, and carrying more pain and disappointment than I wanted anyone to see.

Then came the day I thought would be the start of my forever—a planned wedding with the man I thought I’d spend my life with. But just three months before we were supposed to say “I do,” he walked away on Valentine’s Day, and my heart broke in a way I didn’t think was possible. It felt like all my dreams shattered in an instant. But instead of letting me stay in that brokenness, God stepped in, showing me a love and purpose beyond what I’d ever imagined.

Two years before this, Jesus had come in and rescued my life. But after this breakup, He was calling me to surrender my story completely to Him—to trust that even my greatest wounds could be turned into something meaningful. Through that season, God led me to pursue a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and He started revealing how every chapter of my life, even the painful ones, could help others find healing and wholeness. God was teaching me that my purpose wasn’t just about my own love story; it was about helping others discover their worth and walk into the kind of life and love He wanted for them.

Today, I get to share that hope and purpose with others. Through writing, speaking, and counseling, I’ve been able to help people enter into healthy relationships with God, know their value, and build lives that reflect the love God has for them. I know now that the places that once hurt the most are often the very places where God calls us to serve and shine.

Our stories—all of the highs and lows—are part of a bigger plan, and God can take even our deepest struggles and turn them into beacons of hope. If you’re feeling lost or wondering if God can really use your story, remember that He absolutely can. Every broken place can become a bridge to connect with others, a part of the purpose He has for you. In God’s hands, our stories are redeemed, and we get to help others find the love, worth, and purpose that only He can give.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am deeply passionate about empowering singles to navigate their journeys with peace, purpose, and hope, always focused on God’s plan for their lives. My story is a testament to God’s timing and how, even in the darkest moments, He brings beauty from pain. After experiencing a deeply painful breakup, I moved across the country, and that change in direction led to not only personal growth but also the incredible blessing of meeting my husband, Caleb. Together, we now run a relationship coaching business, where we encourage singles to heal from past hurts, embrace their season of singleness, and prepare themselves for a thriving, God-centered marriage.
Professionally, I work primarily on social media, sharing practical advice and spiritual wisdom for singles. I also lead a membership community called the Waiting Well Singles Community, where we dive into monthly challenges and weekly discussions to grow spiritually and emotionally. My approach is always rooted in faith, helping clients move forward by understanding their identity in Christ and learning to approach relationships with confidence and clarity. We also have our flagship course Cultivate Relationship, designed to guide women on a transformative journey, empowering them to identify the love they deserve and prepare for it wholeheartedly.
In addition to supporting singles, my husband Caleb and I are also passionate about helping married men and women experience the most thriving, fulfilling marriages, even after seasons of disappointment or hardship. We understand that marriage, while beautiful, comes with challenges that can test even the strongest relationships. Through our coaching, we work with couples to navigate these challenges with grace, helping them cultivate marriages rooted in forgiveness, resilience, and the transformative love of Christ. We believe that with the right tools and a heart of prayer, every couple can experience a marriage that flourishes and reflects God’s design.
As authors of four books, we’re passionate about helping others grow in faith and relationships through the power of prayer. Our first book, A Year of Prayer, is a daily devotional crafted to help readers establish a consistent and meaningful prayer life, guiding them to connect deeply with God each day. Our second book, Wholehearted Love, is perfect for anyone on a journey of emotional and spiritual healing. It addresses the challenges of loving wholeheartedly after experiencing pain or disappointment, offering guidance for breaking down emotional walls and opening up to more fulfilling connections—with others and with God. Whether you’re single, dating, or married, Wholehearted Love speaks to the universal experience of moving beyond past hurts to embrace God’s healing and abundant love.
We’re thrilled to announce our upcoming releases, 52 Prayers for My Husband and 52 Prayers for My Wife. These weekly prayer guides are designed to help spouses intentionally support one another through prayer, fostering unity and spiritual depth in their marriage.
Through these books, our coaching, and our upcoming projects, we aim to equip singles and couples alike with the wisdom and support they need to navigate the highs and lows of relationships. Whether someone is single, engaged, or married, we want them to experience the abundant life that God has for them in their relationships and beyond.

Our work is meaningful to us because it allows us to encourage others through our own stories and testimonies, reminding them that God’s timing is perfect. Whether through online coaching, group challenges or upcoming books our mission is to help others find healing and thrive. It’s a joy to walk alongside singles who are eager to see God’s goodness unfold in their lives.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I’d say three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are resilience, empathy, and a strong foundation in faith. I don’t claim to have mastered these, but they’ve been pillars that God’s been growing in me, especially as I walk alongside others in their seasons of singleness, healing, and growth.
1. Resilience: Life has brought some hard moments, and resilience has allowed me to keep going, even when it felt tough. I’ve learned that resilience isn’t about not feeling the pain or avoiding setbacks but about trusting that God can carry me through them. For anyone wanting to grow in resilience, I’d say take it one step at a time. Lean on God’s strength in the small moments, and you’ll be surprised at the way it prepares you for the bigger challenges down the road.
2. Empathy: Empathy has been huge in helping me connect with others, and it’s something I’m constantly working on. Real empathy requires me to slow down, really listen, and put myself in others’ shoes—even when I don’t have the perfect words to say. If you want to grow in empathy, my advice would be to focus on listening without needing to fix things right away. Just being there for someone can be the most powerful thing you do.
3. A Foundation in Faith: My faith in God is my steady ground. It’s what I turn to in every season, and without it, I know I wouldn’t be able to do this work. For those starting out, I’d encourage you to invite God into every part of your journey. Make time for prayer, dive into scripture, and let Him into your highs and lows. Building that relationship will strengthen you in ways nothing else can.
These qualities—resilience, empathy, and faith humble me daily, reminding me that growth is a journey. I encourage anyone just starting out to be patient with yourself and let God work in you.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

My ideal client is someone who’s truly ready to lean into growth. They’re teachable, open-hearted, and willing to acknowledge that they don’t have to figure everything out alone. I believe transformation happens most powerfully when someone recognizes that having guidance—especially a mentor who’s walked this journey—can accelerate their progress in remarkable ways. They know that with the right support, they can grow, heal, and move forward much faster than they would on their own.
An ideal client is someone who brings a willingness to show up honestly, take feedback with humility, and put in the work necessary to create lasting change. They don’t expect an overnight fix but are committed to the process, knowing that each step is bringing them closer to the life and relationships they deeply desire. This person values growth, not just for their own benefit but because they’re passionate about showing up as the best version of themselves—for their future partner, their community, and their relationship with God.
Working with someone like this is a joy, because they’re receptive, resilient, and eager to apply what they learn. They understand that with mentorship, they’re not just gaining knowledge—they’re stepping into a guided path that allows them to flourish with purpose and intention. Together, we’re able to make breakthroughs that impact not only their present but their future, equipping them to live out the full and abundant life they’re called to.
