We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Steffon Seay. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Steffon below.
Steffon, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. We’re excited to dive into your story and your work, but first let’s start with a broader topic that might be stopping many of our readers from pursuing their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. How have you managed to persist despite haters and nay-sayers that inevitably follow folks who are doing something unique, special or off the beaten path?
I invite them, actually. They are a great deal of inspiration. I’ve always believed in “You’re not doing anything right if you don’t have any haters.”
Being doubted is somewhat normal now. People would rather see you fall than watch you succeed at something. Negativity is something to gossip on. Having the latest “tea” is the new thing now.
Through it all though it helps. It keeps my blood flowing and wanting to do more of what they say I can’t or I shouldn’t.
Proving them wrong gives me a great deal of enjoyment.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am an independent recoding artist by the name of Stracci.
I’ve loved music since a youth and I always knew that somehow I would be in the music industry.
I can be heard on most platforms that distribute music and I also have music videos available to watch.
Creating my own music and owning my work is some of the best enjoyment that I have ever had. Listening to myself and knowing that it was I that created it is an amazing achievement alone. Making a career out of it is even more than I could have ever imagined.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Consistency, having the will the learn and wanting to learn the industry.
Don’t give up on what you want to achieve in life. It is your life and success is how you define it.
Don’t be afraid to learn something new and place it into your routine. Having the skills can take you very far.
If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
Learning how to market and advertise myself.
Finding the right marketing team and promotion strategies has been something I’ve been dealing with.
Not everyone has your best interests and right now I am making sure that I invest my money in the right person / people.
I understand that it is a business, but I also want to make sure that the people I work with / hire have values and morales. That they have the same interests in this business that I do.
