We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Stella Boheme a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Stella, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
There is something about putting on bright and colorful eyeshadow, a gown with sequins and rhinestones and outrageous red hair that seems to brighten my day and give me the confidence boost I need. Being a Drag Queen for the past 15 years taught me how to bring alive many things: creativity, fun, joy and above it all, confidence and self-esteem in the legacy I am creating every day.
What I’ve learned is that confidence and self-esteem doesn’t come overnight; it comes from giving yourself permission to show up every day, to be seen, and to take up space. It comes from giving yourself permission to be vibrant and passionate. Drag gave me that gift and today I use my Drag, Tarot, and Transformational work to guide others to be confident and self-assured.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My life’s work is the culmination and cross-section of my many identities: Drag Queen, Performer, Tarot Reader, and Entrepreneur, and Spiritual Life Coach; it’s a space where performance, sacred ritual, and glamour magic all come together. What excites me most about my work is seeing my client’s eyes open to the realm of possibility when reclaim their power and transform their life, through the medium of Tarot.
For me Drag isn’t just about performance, it’s about the sacred ritual. The expression of what is powerful through transformation. Tarot isn’t just about fortune-telling and predicting the future, it’s about reflection and transformation. When these worlds meet, they remind us that life is a stage, and every day we get to choose how we show up, what story we tell, and how much sparkle we leave behind.
This October I’ll be sharing that message at two incredible events: Grimoire Academy in Orlando on October 11, where I’ll be teaching and showcasing my Mystical Cabaret spell jars, and the Rainbow Roots Festival with Rose Dynasty on October 12 in Lakeland, where I’ll be celebrating queer creativity and community. Both events are opportunities for me to bring people into the magic of glam, ritual, and Tarot in a way that’s joyful and accessible.
I am also thrilled to announce the debut of my book Read Like A Queen: Real-Life Insights to SLAY Your Tarot Practice on September 28th, 2025, which is all about making Tarot accessible by bringing it into everyday life and helping readers develop and hone their own Tarot skills with a little glamorous flair. Alongside my book, I’m continuing to grow my Tarot Mentorship Program, guiding students from beginner to professional reader, and developing my own Tarot deck showcasing the life of a Drag Queen from starting out as a young Dragling to full fledged Queen.
Everything I do—whether it’s a performance, a reading, a workshop, or a product—is about helping people claim their power, shine with confidence, and leave their own mark of beauty in the world. That’s the essence of my brand, and it’s what keeps me inspired every day.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Creativity and Adaptability. Life—and performance—is unpredictable. The ability to improvise, experiment, and turn challenges into moments of magic has been essential, both on stage and in my Tarot practice. Tip for newcomers: Don’t be afraid to try new things—even mistakes can become magical moments.
Presence. Being a Drag Queen taught me that it’s okay to take up space and be seen. The spotlight may feel a little uncomfortable at first, but when you take the stage as the star of your life, the most amazing things happen. Tip for newcomers: Practice showing up fully, even in small ways, and notice how your confidence grows.
Consistency. Drag and Tarot didn’t come to me overnight. It was vital that I put in the practice and showed up consistently to improve and grow. Tip for newcomers: Commit to regular practice—little steps each day compound into real mastery.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
One of the most impactful books in my development has been The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. While all four agreements have shaped my life, two nuggets of wisdom have resonated most deeply:
Be Impeccable with Your Word. This isn’t just about what you say to others—it’s about the words you tell yourself. Self-talk shapes confidence, creativity, and the energy you bring into the world, so speaking kindly and truthfully to yourself is transformative.
Don’t Take Anything Personally. We often think of this in the context of criticism—don’t read the comments!—but Ruiz also reminds us to apply it to success. Celebrate your wins, enjoy the moments, but don’t take them personally, as doing so can create complacency. Treat every success as a stepping stone for continued growth.
