Hi Stephanie, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I get my work ethics from my father. I always admired how determined he is to accomplish his work goals. He would wake up from 5am to work and will not leave until he feels like the job is done for the day. My father works as a machine technician. On the contrary I’m a freelance artist while I juggle a part time job. I try to hold those tactics dear to me like waking up early to work on tasks and finding a good stopping point to a long days work.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My name is Stephanie Agudelo! I’m known for my vibrant photography. I displayed internationally, had my work published in several magazines, and won emerging artist in 2019 Miami Art Basel. Today, let’s talk about my second passion which is Curating.
My first job in downtown St. Petersburg, FL was being a gallery assistant at @libertinecontemporary! I instantly fell in love with the idea of helping put together art shows, and meet local artists, and I’m constantly surrounded by beautiful art. Long story short the gallery couldn’t continue in that particular location.
I was distraught, but I wanted to still continue this flame of passion to make an art community. It took a lot of time and the right moment, but I landed a sweet opportunity with @coastalcreative.tv! I have been curating in this space for 2 years going on 3 soon. These events help build a platform for emerging artists and makers. I am grateful for this opportunity and happy to provide a space for emerging talent!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
If I had to give myself advice it would be to not over think so much. I try my best to not get wrapped up in my own thoughts or worries. Lately I been taking walks to clear my head or going to the park. It’s going to take time breaking this habit, but it’s slowly getting better with consistency.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My significant other Ora. He always believes in me when I have doubts and helps me when I’m overwhelmed with tasks. He keeps me motivated and I’m truly very lucky to have him by my side.
