Meet Stephanie Graham

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Stephanie Graham a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Stephanie , so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

I overcome imposter syndrome by acknowledging my success and reflecting on what I have achieved. I focus on my unique skills because I specialize in colored lashes and color theory. I seek feedback from my clients and peers. I challenge my negative thoughts. When those self-doubts creep in, counter them with facts. I’ve built a thriving business and loyal client base- that’s not luck or coincidence, it’s my expertise. I surround myself with support. Being a part of a network of like-minded professionals can help you see that you’re not alone in feeling this way. Focus on growth, not perfection. Everyone is continuously learning and evolving, and you’re no different. Your ability to adapt and grow is what makes you stand out, not just your current skill level.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Desert Beauty Collective, founded and led by Phoenix’s colored lash designer, Stephanie Graham, is transforming the beauty scene by redefining the art of lash extensions. Specializing in colored lashes and color theory, I create personalized, striking looks that empower women to express their individuality. With a focus on enhancing beauty while simplifying daily routines, my studio caters to business women, professionals, and beauty enthusiasts seeking bold yet sophisticated lash designs. Under the vision of Stephanie, Desert Beauty Collective blends artistry and innovation to help clients embrace confidence, all while staying on the cutting edge of beauty trends.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three key qualities and skills would be visionary creativity. My ability to see beyond traditional lash extensions and specialize in colored lashes shows an innovative mindset. This creativity sets me apart in a crowded market and helped me carve out a niche that resonates with women looking for something unique and personalized.
Business acumen. Running Desert Beauty Collective requires strong business skills, from managing clients to marketing and growth strategies. My ability to understand my target audience- business women and beauty-conscious clients-and cater to their specific needs has driven my success.
Resilience and adaptability. As an entrepreneur, I have faced challenges and competition. My resilience, paired with an ability to adapt to changing trends in the beauty industry, has been vital in keeping my business thriving and ahead of the curve.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I would love to meet more people and businesses to collaborate with! I would be interested in collaborating with high-end salons and spas, offering cross promotions between our businesses. Boutique fashion stores, reaching fashion-forward women who value style and self-expression. Makeup artists, partnering with local makeup artists for weddings, photoshoots, or special events. Fitness studios or yoga and pilates centers. Many women in fitness still care about their beauty routine but want something low-maintenance like lash extensions.
