Meet Stephanie Jensen

We were lucky to catch up with Stephanie Jensen recently and have shared our conversation below.

Stephanie, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I found my purpose by looking in the mirror. What I see in the mirror is a tired stay-at-home mom. I don’t always have the time to do my hair, dress nice, do my make-up, or look put together. I rock the homeless look. And then I see my babies look flawless—my four babies. I’m always taking pictures of them and they look perfect in every one. I always make sure to capture the moments of them with my husband. He’s always looking very handsome and professional. And then, there are the minimal photos I have of myself. Bad angles, looking homeless, motion blur, just flat-out unflattering. It’s then that I realized that the only photos where I look decent are the professional ones. Where you can see the love I have for my children. I want my children to look back at these photos when I’m old and gray.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Hi there! My name’s Stephanie, but my friends and family mostly call me Steph (Stephie if you’re my dad!). I’m a wife, stay-at-home mom to four amazing children, dog mom, and business owner. I’m an emotive family photographer with an emphasis on capturing raw moments and true connections between you and your family. I also specialize in maternity, lifestyle newborn, and motherhood.

As a stay-at-home mom, I know that we don’t always get the most flattering photos with our kids. Most of us look homeless 99% of the time (myself included). Dads always get the best photos. And I’m here to change that. I want to show you the beauty that your kids see within you. We as mothers (and even as women) are so hard on ourselves. It’s time to throw that narrative out the window. Let me show you how beautiful you are.

My services include a full client closet with over 350 pieces for my clients to choose from. I have a wide variety of women’s dresses ranging from XS – 2XL, alongside infants, children’s, and even some men’s clothing! Styling can make or break your session. I’m here to lift that weight off your shoulders.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Communication, Attention to detail, and creativity.

Invest in a mentorship to help improve your skills. Follow your favorite creators on social media! Draw inspiration from them.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
Imposter syndrome. Social media can be the devil sometimes! But we live in a world where everything revolves around social media. So it’s impossible to avoid. But sometimes you just need to turn off your phone, host a model call, and light that creative fire within you again. Go out of your comfort zone and do something different.
