Meet Stephanie Lafler

We were lucky to catch up with Stephanie Lafler recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Lots of work. I worked with a transformational healing mindset coach for over 6 months. We met twice a week, did hypnosis, meditation and learned a lot about why I was self sabotaging. I’m still putting in the work.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
It’s difficult to sum up all that I do to be honest. I am growing my DFW Women’s Networking Group on Facebook and launching a membership program within the group and also begin hosting retreats with a focus on teaching social media strategies. We started in 2018 and are now at almost 13,000.

My business focus right now is on Women that are either about to go through menopause or are going through menopause and how I can empower them with holistic solutions to navigate the side effects that come with it. I personally experienced tremendous hair loss in the perimenopause phase and had never heard anyone talk about that being a symptom or side effect. Once I figured out what it was from, then there was this odd sense of embarrassment, because talking about menopause has been taboo in someways. Our mothers and grandmother is always talked about hot flashes and that was about it. But there’s so much more and if we can normalize talking about what’s coming and had a prepare and truly support the young women that are going to be going through this I feel like we can make a big impact on how they experience menopause.

I’m also a grandmother, “Honey” to 2 beautiful grandbabies and being an entrepreneur has allowed me to be able to help fill in the gaps sometimes when my children need help with their babies which has been incredible.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I would say personal development and growth are absolute key. Implementing the practice of reading at least 10 pages a day of something to grow your knowledge, skillsets and something that will give you tools to help with mindset are key.

If someone is early in their journey and are building a brand on social media, it’s important to find who you resonate with and learn from them. There are a lot of people who call themselves coaches that teach a lot of different ways to market, if you follow them all you end up confused. Find one, maybe two that resonate and stick with them.

Learning tools to automate has been a game changer for me. Personal touch is best, but there are so many things that you can do to automate certain things when it comes to business. Starting that early on is crucial to growth.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
The Slight Edge. This book is all about making that daily decision that in the moment might seem insignificant but compounded over time will make the biggest difference.
