If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, three key qualities and skills that were most impactful in my journey as a makeup artist are adaptability, cultural awareness, and dedication to ongoing learning. The makeup industry is always evolving, with new techniques, trends, and tools emerging constantly. Staying up-to-date and continuously improving my craft has been essential to maintaining my relevance and delivering exceptional results. My advice is to Always be a student of your craft!
For anyone early in their journey, focus on being open-minded, approachable, and eager to grow. Building a strong foundation in technical skills is important, but what truly sets you apart is your ability to connect with clients, adapt to change, and consistently deliver quality work.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
I constantly remind myself that challenges are opportunities to grow and learn. A positive outlook helps me stay motivated and think clearly under pressure. It also uplifts those around me, which is especially important when working with clients or a team. I often Practice gratitude and focus on what ive accomplished rather than what’s left to do. Positivity is contagious and can shift the energy of any situation.
Rather than letting the situation overwhelm me, I focus on finding solutions. Whether it’s managing last-minute changes on a shoot or creating a backup plan for an event, approaching challenges with a solution-oriented mindset reduces stress and keeps things moving smoothly. Just Cultivating the habit of staying calm and asking yourself, “What’s the next best step I can take?” This keeps your focus on progress rather than problems.
