Meet Su Iyer

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Su Iyer. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Su, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic comes from the quiet resolve and determination of my grandmother, Rukmini, who had to fight to survive. Married off against her wishes as a child in the early 1900s, and widowed soon after, she defied immense odds as a single mother—feeding and educating my mom all by herself during a time and in a country where women had no rights.

She raised me to believe that success comes from diligent effort, not privilege or luck. Giving up, she taught me, is the surest way to failure. Her example guided me when I worked as a business consultant in Corporate America, and continues to shape my work as a wellness educator today. As the song goes “when the going gets tough, the tough get going” and she’s the toughest person I’ve ever known.

I heard Shaquille O’Neal say at a conference once, “Real pressure is when you don’t know where your next meal is coming from.” Grandma Rukmini would agree, because she faced exactly this kind of pressure. When I struggle, I remind myself of this quote and my grandmother’s example, and it immediately puts my situation in perspective.

I leaned on this philosophy while building out my online course in self-massage for pain relief. It took six months of patient, grueling work—recording, refining, and scripting—without knowing how it would be received. But not doing it would be the surest way to get no results.

To this day, my grandmother’s endurance reminds me that sincere effort is transformative—a lesson that keeps me grounded, grateful, and motivated.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am Su, a wellness professional who integrates yoga, mindfulness, breathwork, myofascial release, and nervous system regulation into a cohesive, mind-body approach. Drawing on both evidence-based science and classical teachings, I provide personalized tools that support relaxation, emotional regulation, and physical health. My integrative framework helps people not just survive but thrive, by managing stress sustainably and building resilience and wellbeing.

My brand is Peaceful Warrior Su and my website is https://www.peacefulwarriorsu.com/

After a 25-year career in business consulting in Wall Street, I transitioned to wellness with a mission to share the transformation I’ve experienced personally. I lead workshops, retreats, and private sessions both online and in-person; and am invited to “train the trainers” worldwide. I also have on-demand courses on my website so people can practice in their own space in their own time.

My online course, “Pain-relief Self-Massage,” offers five modules, broken into easy 15-minute non-invasive practices using everyday tools like tennis balls to relieve common chronic conditions—such as sciatica, migraines, frozen shoulders, knee & hip issues, SI joint dysfunction and more. This course offers easy solutions without having to spend a lot of money (we use tennis balls, belts, pillows, etc) or time, and the comfort of doing it at home, at your own pace, with me guiding you through every step. These techniques have been a game-changer to me and my clients, and I was determined to make it accessible to others.

Currently, I’m preparing to launch a new online course focused on regulating and balancing the nervous system. The course bridges insights from modern neuroscience with ancient practices like breathwork, offering practical strategies that anyone can use. We have more agency over our inner state than we realize and my goal in this course is to guide you to (a) build awareness of your nervous system, and (b) learn straightforward methods to shift how you feel—so you can move from stress to calm, or fatigue to vitality.

Drawing upon my decades of experience in Corporate America, I’m also developing ‘Resilience Labs,’ a corporate wellness program applying nervous system science to help executives improve stress management and workplace resilience. I wish I had these tools during my corporate career – so now I’m hoping to fill that gap for others! Stay tuned!

“When things change inside you, things change around you”—this phrase guides my approach to wellness and transformation. My work is rooted in depth, integrity, and accessibility. Whether through courses, coaching, or content creation, my goal is to empower others with the knowledge and practices that have profoundly shaped my own journey toward conscious, mindful living.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I’d say the three biggest qualities that made a difference for me are (a) sincere effort; (b) critical thinking; (c) and curiosity.

I’ve talked about how important a strong work ethic is, and sincere effort is what keeps you moving even when motivation dips. Critical thinking has been a game changer because it means not just taking things at face value but really questioning, researching, and deciding what connects with you and feels authentic to you. Curiosity has kept me open to learning from all sorts of places—from ancient yoga texts to the latest neuroscience findings; from movement sciences to breathwork.

In today’s world of easily available and rampant information, all these skills are especially important – be curious, apply critical thinking to test and find what’s actually true and put in the effort required to get where you want to go. As a guide, I encourage my clients to try things out for themselves, see what resonates, and really trust their own experience rather than just following instructions blindly.

My advice to anyone starting their journey is: BE YOUR OWN BEST FRIEND! Trust yourself and remember that progress isn’t a straight line. Sometimes you take two steps back for every one step forward—and that’s simply part of the journey. The key is to believe in the process, not stress about the outcome. And to remember that transformation unfolds over time, not overnight.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’d love to collaborate with corporate wellness teams, yoga studios, mindfulness programs, training initiatives, and mind-body wellness projects, as well as private clients seeking to start or deepen their wellness journey.

I’m passionate about bringing evidence-based, integrative approaches to anyone who wants to be healthier, happier and more resilient.

If any of this resonates, I’d love to connect and explore how we might work together.
