Hi Sulema, thank you so much for making time for us today. Let’s jump right into a question so many in our community are looking for answers to – how to overcome creativity blocks, writer’s block, etc. We’d love to hear your thoughts or any advice you might have.

As a creative entrepreneur, I know firsthand that creativity is the lifeblood of my business. But even the most innovative minds can hit a wall – Creative Block is a real phenomenon that can strike anyone, regardless of experience or skill. It often strikes when we’re trying to launch something new or wrap up a project. When this happens to me, I’ve learned to take a step back, whether it’s for a short break or a longer hiatus. That’s when I seek out inspiration from others, immerse myself in stimulating environments, or simply give my brain time to recharge. Sometimes, all it takes is a little rest to get the creative juices flowing again.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

As a the Creative Director at AMORFIRST, I am privileged to have the opportunity to conceptualize and craft our stunning collections of jewelry, accessories, and art. Based in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, we draw inspiration from the variegated tapestry of our communities. I pour my heart and soul into every piece, and it brings me immense joy to see our creations loved, worn, and exhibited by our clients. The ability to bring beauty and delight to others through my work is a true gift, and I am grateful for the passion that drives me every day.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

For me, the keys to success are drawing, communication, and patience. Drawing allows me to bring my vision to life and effectively collaborate with others by visually communicating my ideas. Clear communication is essential in business, as it ensures everyone is on the same page and helps to address potential issues before they become major problems. In today’s fast-paced commercial world, patience is a valuable trait that can be challenging to cultivate. However, I’ve learned that patience is crucial for staying grounded and sane, especially when unexpected setbacks occur and deadlines need to be adjusted. By embracing patience, I’m able to approach challenges with a clear mind and a focused approach, leading to more successful outcomes.

To further develop drawing, communication, and patience, I recommend the following: consider taking art classes or workshops to refine your drawing skills, as while some people may have a natural talent, it’s also a skill that can be honed over time with practice and learning new techniques. For communication, take advantage of training programs, college courses, or public speaking groups to improve your verbal and interpersonal skills. Additionally, seek out opportunities to lead or manage teams, as this will help you understand that people communicate in diverse ways and teach you to be adaptable and open to different communication styles. Remember, patience can be developed through practice, self-reflection, and experience, so be patient with yourself and others as you grow and learn.

Our ideal client is a discerning individual who values exceptional, one-of-a-kind products that defy mass-produced norms. They appreciate the blood, sweat, and tears that go into crafting a masterpiece that can be treasured for generations to come. We desire to create pieces that not only make our clients feel confident and beautiful but also spark conversations and turn heads. We envision our client being stopped and asked about the origin of their exquisite piece, or receiving compliments on its unique beauty and craftsmanship. We strive to create a sense of pride and joy in our clients, knowing they possess something truly special and meaningful.
