Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Surabhi Khare. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Surabhi, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
I challenge myself with new or different things that expose me to new ideas and perspectives. I think taking breaks can improve creativity and give you a momentum to start something again with the same spark.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Surabhi and I am a Mandala Artist and the creator of the sur_creative_studio. I have always been drawn to the beauty of mandalas and find so much peace and tranquility within the symmetry and sacred geometry of their design. Mandalas are a sacred symbol used for meditation, prayer, healing and art therapy. When painting each piece, I enter a meditative flow state, allowing the patterns to unfold in front of me, making each piece truly one-of-a-kind! Painting mandalas has brought me a great sense of peace, balance and mindfulness which I believe is beautifully translated into each art piece.
I opened my etsy and also I maintain an instagram profile where all my followers can take a look and admire and even bought few of my pieces. It gives me an immense pleasure to think that my art piece is now a part of their home.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The qualities that all artists share-
1) They See Beyond What Others See: Beauty is indeed in the eyes of the beholder. And artists are the medium that portrays this beauty to others through their perspective.
2)They Are Single-Minded: They are focused and usually forget the world around them until that work is completed.
They Are Passionate:
3)They Are Disciplined: Patience and discipline are two vital qualities all artists share. Artists need to be patient with their art. Rushing art will only spoil it.
4)They Have An Adventurous Spirit: Artists are easily bored if something does not connect with them. They frequently leave their comfort zones in search of something that adds thrill and gives some meaning to their lives.
What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
The challenging part is to maintain calm, a good posture to maintain your health, balance your personal life. An artist should have to be focused enough to take care of all the things that are important.
