Meet Suzanne Holmes

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Suzanne Holmes. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Suzanne below.

Hi Suzanne, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose through pain—quite literally.

After years of living with chronic pain, feeling trapped in my body and invisible to a healthcare system that couldn’t explain my symptoms, I was left to navigate a lonely and exhausting journey. My days were filled with fatigue, anxiety, and disconnection—from joy, from others, and from myself.

But something in me refused to give up.

I began educating myself, determined to find answers. That’s when I discovered something life-changing: the science of chronic pain and the role of the nervous system. I learned that the body, when overwhelmed by trauma or stress, can get stuck in a protective “fight or flight” state. This keeps pain and emotional distress alive—even when the original cause is long gone. It’s not rare. It’s simply misunderstood.

With the help of a specialized pain clinic and experts in neuroplasticity and mindfulness, I began to rewire my nervous system and create a felt sense of safety in my body again. As I healed, I realized: this knowledge is powerful—and it needs to be shared.

Over the past nine years, I’ve trained in mindfulness, meditation, somatics, and energy healing, and became a certified Reiki Master. My purpose became clear: to be the guide I needed—someone who offers hope, tools, and healing to others on their path.

Reiki and energy work became the heart of my work because of their profound ability to calm the nervous system and restore connection to the inner self. But I quickly realized that this approach isn’t just for chronic pain—it’s for everyone.

Whether you’re living with physical pain, anxiety, burnout, or just feel stressed and unaligned, the tools I share help people come home to themselves. Healing happens when we feel safe again—in our bodies, in our emotions, and in our lives.

This work is my calling. It’s my honor to help others reclaim their well-being and deepen their self-trust.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m Suzanne Holmes, founder of Healing Home Reiki and Centered with Suzanne. I’m an Angelic and Usui Reiki Master, somatic healing & chakra practitioner, and a guide for those seeking the next stage of their healing—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Healing Home Reiki was born from my personal healing journey. After a serious injury disrupted my once-active life, I found myself navigating chronic pain, burnout, and a deep sense of loss. Traditional medical routes didn’t provide the answers I needed, so I began exploring healing through a blend of Western medicine, Eastern practices, and mind-body techniques. That search became my purpose.

Today, I offer soothing, personalized sessions—both virtually and in my peaceful home studio in Keller, TX—designed to help you reconnect with your body, regulate your nervous system, and return to your natural state of balance. My work also includes workplace wellness sessions, mentorship, card readings, and group healing experiences.

I also lead the Intuitive Immersion Course, a deeply supportive group experience for those ready to strengthen their intuition, explore energetic healing, awaken their inner guidance, and embody their gifts with confidence.

On Instagram, through @centeredwithsuzanne, I share Mindfulness and Energy Practices—guided meditations, somatic tools, and energy techniques to help bring calm, clarity, and embodiment into everyday life.

What makes my work unique is the deep empathy I carry from my own experience. I know what it’s like to feel like life hasn’t gone to plan, yet yearning to live up to my potential. Through nine years of training—from neuroplasticity and chakra energetics to Reiki and somatic mindfulness—I’ve cultivated an integrative, trauma-informed approach that meets each person where they are.

I’m honored to support clients in a variety of spaces:
—In my sunlit home studio in Keller
— Through virtual sessions
— In corporate wellness environments, in-person and online
—Teaching mindfulness to teens
—And weekly at the Sacred Journey store in DFW, Texas, for Reiki sessions

Above all, I want people to know: healing doesn’t have to be a solo quest. My sessions are intuitive, compassionate, and tailored to your unique energy and needs. Whether you’re navigating chronic pain, anxiety, burnout, or simply feel out of alignment—you are seen, held, and supported here.

If you’re ready to come home to yourself, deepen your mind-body connection, and discover tools for transformation, I’d be honored to walk this path with you.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Radical Acceptance & Perseverance As a patient in a pain clinic, I learned Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I learned to turn toward reality and be present with “what is,” even when it was painful or disappointing. Facing chronic pain after a serious injury in 2012, I accepted the hard truths of my experience. That radical presence allowed me to shift from despair to self-empowerment. I dove into the neuroscience of pain, understood how the nervous system can become locked in survival mode, and took charge of my healing.

2. Mindfulness
Mindfulness is the practice of bringing your attention to the present moment and simply observing. How can such a simple concept be so profound?

It was daily relaxation meditation that truly shifted my inner landscape. Through consistent practice—starting with just a few minutes each morning—I began to notice tension easing, my breath slowing, and my mind settling. Every time I practiced, it offered a chance to return to center: noticing the pull of pain, stress, or worry, and gently inviting my attention back to the sensations of breath, body, and heart. Over time, this consistent presence rebuilt my sense of safety and wholeness.

3. Integrative Training & Certification
Over nine years, I’ve studied energy healing, Reiki (both Usui and Angelic), chakra energetics, and somatic practices—all grounded in neuroplasticity and mindfulness. These certifications and trainings not only validated my work; they equipped me with a broad, integrative toolset to support healing holistically.

Advice for Those Just Starting Out:
Start with curiosity, not perfection. Acknowledge where you are—whether overwhelmed, hopeful, or grieving your current situation —and take one small step: a book, a breathing practice, a short course.

Practice daily consistency, not intensity. Healing happens over time through repetition. Less is more—aim for regular 5–10 minute practices.

Find support. Join a healing group, find a mentor (like a Reiki practitioner), or work with someone who can help you stay motivated and feel seen.

Celebrate small shifts. Healing isn’t always dramatic—feeling a moment of peace, less-tensed muscles, or being able to focus for a few minutes are milestones worth honoring.

In my own journey, these areas were transformative. They helped me shift from feeling trapped in pain to becoming a guide with purpose. If you’re stepping onto this path, start with curiosity, take small daily actions, and know you’re not alone.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is someone who feels the call to heal—someone who senses there’s more to life, more to themself, and is ready to begin the inner journey to discover it. They are motivated, but may feel unsure how exactly to proceed. They are looking for the right healers to help them.

They may be living with chronic pain, burnout, anxiety, or simply feel disconnected from a life that doesn’t feel aligned. Often, they’ve explored traditional routes and still feel stuck or unseen. They’re sensitive, spiritually curious, and open to exploring healing on a mind-body-soul level. They’re not just looking for symptom relief—they’re seeking deep transformation, clarity, and a return to self.

There’s a quiet knowing inside them that they’ve only scratched the surface of what’s possible—and they’re ready to explore their potential.

Whether they’re just beginning or already on a healing path, my clients are willing to slow down, tune in, and embrace tools that support the nervous system, explore their energy body, and strengthen inner trust. They’re ready to feel safe in their body, connected to their truth, and aligned with their potential.

Most importantly, you don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need the willingness to begin.

If this resonates, I’d be honored to walk with you.
