Meet SYDIE

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful SYDIE. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with SYDIE below.

SYDIE, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I was fortunate enough to know very young. As a young child I always wanted to be an entertainer and I felt the most pull towards music. I sang as 3 year old to my family and blew them away, I think then they realized they had a star on their hands. I did choir, theater, dance, as a young child and into my teenager years I began to focus on dance more and soon realized I could generate income through choreography later on in life. I circled back around to music my freshman year of college I made a few friends here and there who wanted to get into music as well. Fast forward to now I am currently collaborating with talents artists and tapping into my artist development phase.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am an Artist, A singer to be more exact and as of now I am in my Artist development stage meaning I am currently recording my newest project “The Broken Hearts Club” album. Partnering with talented photographers for campaign shoots. I do have a certification in digital media so I play around with edits from my photoshoots. Modeling has always been something that I could naturally fall into and excel in. I am currently in preparation for a fashion show audition so more on that soon. Once the album is done , I will take it to the people and make connections with those that are drawn to my music. Lastly you will see SYDIE at SXSW in the Spring time so look out for that!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Patience, Practice, and Faith . Whatever you do , don’t give up. If you don’t try you’ll never know.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My daughter is the main driving force in my success. I want to be the absolute best role model for her and show her that she can do anything. I want her to realize the reality of this world but making sure I give her the tools to face it. I want to be a goddess-warrior and I want my daughter to know that she can be too.
