Meet Sydney Krueger

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sydney Krueger. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Sydney , you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?

I learned generosity through my parents. They always made time for others and put people before themselves. Watching them Help neighbors, friends and family taught me the value of giving without expecting anything in return.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My name is Sydney I’m a 22 year old hair stylist and makeup artist located in Somerset wi. I graduated highschool in 2021 and started cosmetology school right out of highschool. I worked at a salon in my home town for the first two years, then realized I wanted to go out on my own! I couldn’t be more proud of myself at being a business owner at the age of 22!! I love building client relationships while providing a luxury service to elevate their beauty and confidence! I provide a variety of services from color, cuts, extensions, makeup ect. My favorite service to offer is color!! I love seeing the before and afters!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Building a business can lead to set backs, my ability to keep pushing forward had a big role in my success. Being a hairstylist you have to stay up to date with the trends. Having the urge to learn, constantly upskilling helped me remain valuable in a fast changing field. Being able to understand and care about my clients experiences made my work more meaningful.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

Im not one to grab a book and start reading but I did get my hands on the book “let them”. If anyone gets the time to read i highly recommend this book. I often have to remind myself about the let them theory. If they want to leave, let them. If they don’t show up for you, let them. Having this mindset in life is a game changer. You learn to live your life for YOU. You learn to preserve your energy and boundaries. Having this mindset is key when owning your own business. Not everyone will like you. You can’t make everyone happy. The ones who support you will constantly show up and you will eventually be surrounded by the right people.
