Meet Sydney Paige

We were lucky to catch up with Sydney Paige recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Sydney with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I get my work ethic from my mom. My mom started her business 8 years ago while still working a daily job. She would go to work, then begin taking clients as soon as she was back home. She continued to build her business and eventually opened her own shop. Even through Covid-19, she perservered until she was able take appointments again. Now she keeps up with both hers and our business. She is constantly working on ways to help grow our business. My mom inspires me to work hard to acheive the things you want because you never know if its possible until you try.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

At The Link Lab, we’re all about making memories you can wear. Whether you’re picking charms that tell your story at our Charm’d Life Charm Bar or getting a custom-fitted Permanent Jewelry piece, everything is made just for you. It’s fun, it’s personal, and it’s the perfect way to stay connected to your favorite people, places, and moments. Recently, we’ve had the honor of partnering with incredible brands to bring unforgettable Permanent Jewelry and Charm Bar experiences to life, including e.l.f. Cosmetics, People Magazine, Westin Charlotte, Marriott Charlotte, Sixty Vines Charlotte, Signify Health/CVS, North Carolina A&T State University, and Hudson Valley Lighting Group.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Before The Link Lab, I didn’t have any background knowledge of business or jewelry other than helping my mom with her business. Looking back, the most impactful qualities in my journey were creativity, resilience, and the willingness to learn. My advice for someone early in their journey would be, don’t wait for the “perfect” time. Jump in, start small, and learn everything you can along the way. Every step, whether it feels like a win or a mistake, will build the skills and knowledge you need to grow.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

Right now, my biggest challenge is balancing helping to run The Link Lab in my spare time with being a full-time college student. I started the business in my senior year of high school, and now I’m a junior in college studying Biology to become an orthodontist. One of my toughest classes is Chemistry. I’ve even had to retake it over the summer, but I’m pushing through, staying consistent, and reminding myself never to give up.
