Meet Sydney Schwieters

We recently connected with Sydney Schwieters and have shared our conversation below.

Sydney, thrilled to have you on the platform as I think our readers can really benefit from your insights and experiences. In particular, we’d love to hear about how you think about burnout, avoiding or overcoming burnout, etc.

Working in social media, it can feel like I’m constantly plugged in—scrolling, absorbing, creating, and consuming content day in and day out. Inspiration is everywhere, but when your work relies on constant creativity and connection, it’s easy to hit a wall. I’ve definitely experienced burnout over the years—especially as a business owner who wears all the hats. It’s tough to step away when you care so much about what you’re building.

But over time, I’ve learned to recognize my own signs of burnout and know when it’s time to pause. For me, that means intentionally stepping away from screens, unplugging for a bit, and just being present in my life outside of work. I’m not just a business owner—I’m also a human, a wife, and a mom. And I’ve realized that if I don’t take the time to fill my cup for them and myself, I won’t have anything left to give to my business or clients.

Now, I build in space for rest and reflection. It’s not always easy (especially in an industry that never sleeps), but I’ve found that giving myself that grace makes me a better creative, a better strategist, and ultimately a better support system for the businesses I serve. That’s how it all coexists—by letting it ebb and flow, and honoring both the hustle and the pause.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

At September Social, I believe that social media should be more than just posts and likes—it should be about creating genuine connections with intention. As the founder, my mission is to help small businesses navigate the digital landscape with strategies that feel effortless and authentic.

My journey began about 7 years ago, at the age of 18, when I immersed myself in the world of social media as a fashion and beauty influencer, later transitioning into lifestyle content creation. This experience ignited my passion for the strategic side of digital marketing, leading me to establish September Social. Now, I partner with businesses to craft personalized social media and email marketing strategies that resonate deeply with their audiences.

What sets September Social apart is my commitment to making marketing feel like a natural extension of your brand. Whether it’s through comprehensive social media management, custom content strategy development, or engaging email marketing campaigns, my goal is to alleviate the overwhelm and empower businesses to show up confidently online.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is witnessing the tangible growth of my clients. For instance, by implementing a consistent and tailored content strategy, one of my clients was able to reach 24,000 accounts in just one month, despite having only 345 followers. This success underscores the power of strategic consistency and authentic engagement.

Currently, I’m excited to expand my offerings and continue developing innovative strategies that align with the evolving digital landscape. At September Social, it’s not just about managing your social media—it’s about partnering with you to create meaningful connections that drive sustainable growth.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, three things have been incredibly impactful in my journey: learning to get comfortable in the uncomfortable, embracing imposter syndrome rather than running from it, and setting realistic expectations for myself.

Being a business owner means constantly stepping into new, unknown territory. The moments that felt the scariest or most uncertain have almost always been the ones that sparked the most growth. I’ve learned that imposter syndrome doesn’t mean you’re not capable—it means you’re pushing yourself into something bigger. And instead of letting that feeling hold me back, I’ve started to welcome it as a sign that I’m moving forward.

Setting realistic expectations for myself has also been key. It’s so easy to fall into the trap of comparison or trying to do everything all at once, but real growth comes from sustainable progress. Giving myself permission to move at my own pace has made the journey not only more enjoyable but more aligned with the kind of life and business I want to build.

My biggest piece of advice for anyone just starting out is this: all good things take time. Whatever you’re building, give it space to evolve. Don’t rush something you want to be proud of long-term. Trust yourself, give yourself grace, and know that the magic is in the process.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?

My ideal client is a passionate business owner who’s ready to stop spinning their wheels on social media and finally make it work for them. They’re often juggling a million things and know they need to show up online, but don’t have the time or clarity to do it strategically. That’s where I come in!

At September Social, I partner with businesses who want more than just posts—they want connection. I work best with clients who are driven, open to collaboration, and ready to let go of the constant stress around content creation. If you’ve ever said “I don’t even know where to start,” or “I’m posting but not seeing results,” then we’d probably be a great fit.

This is a good move for you if:

– You’re craving consistency and results that feel aligned with your brand.
– You want your marketing to feel less like a chore and more like a conversation.
– You’re looking for support that takes tasks off your plate—not adds more.

I love helping my clients transform their digital presence in a way that feels true to them, while freeing up their time to focus on the bigger picture. The transformation is both in their business and their life—because when the right strategy is in place, the overwhelm lifts and the growth becomes sustainable!
