Meet Sydney Webb

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sydney Webb. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Sydney, thanks for taking the time to share your lessons with our community today. So, let’s jump right in – one of the most essential skills for unlocking our potential is self-discipline. Where does your self-discipline come from?
I would say my self- discipline. came from doing virtual school all my life.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a published model and fashion designer. I started modeling 6 years ago. Since then, I have been in over 200 magazines. Walked many runways for designers and even share my knowledge of modeling with others that want to get into the modeling industry. I always stress to everyone that wants to get into modeling that it is more than being a pretty face. You have to understand the difference between the types of models there are. You also need to have a thick skin, because people can and will be hard on you. When I first started modeling, I had a designer make me cry and almost quit modeling. Instead, I decided to work harder and better at my craft.

As for my fashion designing, I always was drawing deigns from a young age, but I really started making those designs in 2019. I did not have a sewing machine, so I did everything by hand. It was small things at first. Then I started making outfits for myself just to see my designs come to life. Right now, I am creating designs to wear while I model at photoshoots.

Exciting events I have coming up are different photoshoots. I will be modeling at WPPI and Fusion in March. April I will be traveling to St Louis for Shutterfest.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three most important skills would be: One know your worth. Know what you will and will not do in your career and do not let anyone tell you do change that.

Two: Practice and study. Learn the industry so you know what people are asking of you.

Three: Once you are not enjoying it and do not do it anymore as it will show in your pictures.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am looking to partner or collaborate with designers, hair and makeup artist, photographers and other models.
