We were lucky to catch up with SYNAH recently and have shared our conversation below.
SYNAH, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I believe my resilience comes from my belief that you can do anything you put your mind to. I owe that understanding to my spirituality, making music, prioritizing my mental health, learning music business, and producing my own creative projects. I think it made me mentally strong, and taught me how to approach obstacles with solutions. I also learned that no one is going to care for my projects like I do and learning to bet on myself made a huge difference for me.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Im SYNAH, singer, songwriter and content creator. I love making music that fuse genres like pop and rnb. Im currently working on my second EP and creating content for beauty, fashion, and lifestyle brands. I find joy a bridging the gap between artist and my community by sharing behind the scenes, snapshot and creative input via social media. You can find me on Instagram @syntheintrovert and TikTok @Syn_the_introvert and SYNAH on all streaming platforms.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three areas of knowledge that continue to serve me well are: The willingness to go at it alone, being curious enough to try, and trusting in your gifts. Looking back there were so many things I didn’t do because I had no one to do them with or my friend backed out last minute. The moment I got comfortable with doing things alone, I felt fearless. Go to that event even if all of your friends want to stay in. You might meet tons of creatives who are always down to go in the future. I never want to leave my success up to whether or not I gave my best. The curiosity of “what if it’s everything I ever imagined” keeps my goals interesting. Learning to trust my creativity has taught me to lean into my artistry in time of confusion. I think it’s become easy to rely on what’s popular to dictate what is considered good. You don’t have to do what everyone else is doing to be considered good.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’m always excited to collaborate with creatives and brands. When I’m not working on music I’m creating UGC content for brands to use on social media. If you’re a brand looking for UGC contact : [email protected]
