Meet Tadria Allen

We recently connected with Tadria Allen and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Tadria with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic, without a doubt comes from my parents. Individually, they have shown, taught , and embodied what it means to commit to work while doing it with pride and integrity. My mom , a retired school teacher raised my sisters and I , took care of her parents, took care of the home while working as a teacher for over thirty years. She impacted so many lives while teaching showing me that being passionate about your work makes going and showing up even more meaningful. My dad moved from Houston to Charlotte , was a truck driver where he begin to start his own business as a landscaper. He went from providing services as a side job to now operating one of the biggest landscaping companies in Charlotte.

They both instilled in me the following :
taking pride in your work , never half ass, never settle

Watching them grow up AND being around them today, to see how far they have come is truly a testament to why I’ve worked and continue to work as hard as I do.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I moved to Atlanta after high school and attended Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) where I received a BFA in Fashion Marketing & Management with a minor in Business & Entrepreneurship. After, I begin to train as a professional dancer while working to build my brand and name as a Wardrobe Stylist. This was NOT easy. Trying to make a name for myself in two of the most cutthroat industries , still to this day has been a challenge. Thankfully, I went from no clients to working with some of the most prominent artist in Atlanta including Meg the Stallion, Lil Durk, Jack Harlow, future and so many more. As a Professional Dancer, I’ve had the pleasure in working with Artists , Tv Shows and Films. The latest being The Color Purple that comes out this Christmas.

Since moving to Atlanta, I now have a son , I own my own Wardrobe Company (JÜ-EL ) and have expanded my creative services to Choreography and Creative Direction.
Within JÜ-EL , I started a Kids Camp that teaches children the fundamentals of Fashion Design , Entrepreneurship and Marketing. I am currently working on expanding and transitioning it to a non -profit to serve even more communities .

In this season, I am focused on scaling, establishing more relationships with creatives and just continue to be inspired by the art.

In the Future , my dream is to buy a school building in my home town where we teach and provide Fashion and Business resources to underserved communities. I will also open a kids boutique and explore acting.

Planting these seeds in Atlanta has been life changing. Watching them grow, liberating. I can not wait to see what God has for me next.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
There are so many things that have impacted my journey. If I had to narrow down to three I would say my faith, authenticity, and the idea of “if at first you don’t succeed, try again.

My faith grew , had to. I was in a new city, starting a new life at a young age with no book or guide. As I grew in my faith, it didn’t mean I wouldn’t have obstacles but I would have to collect more tools as time went on handle each with ease.

I never lost who I was, ( and that’s easy to do in a city like Atlanta) Always stayed true to my brand and what I wanted people to feel when working with me or seeing any of my work. This applies to social media, how I carry myself when Im out , etc. I always thought, You never know who you’re going to meet and how that person can impact you or your brand

Never giving up is truly the secret recipe. You will fail, a lot. Having the guts and heart to fail again is essential to the journey.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The Most impactful things my parents did was let me be me . They supported my dreams, goals, still do to this day. For that, I owe them everything.

As a parent now , that inspires me when raising my son.
