Meet Tajammul Kothari

We recently connected with Tajammul Kothari and have shared our conversation below.

Tajammul, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I had just completed my post-graduation from England and returned to Bahrain, where I have been brought up and where my parents have been residing, to pursue my career. After landing a plush job in a reputed company, the initial years were exciting but then life and work become too mundane. it was as if I was living life on repetitive mode. I was lacking purpose and wanted to do something that actually made me happy. Then, one day I came to know about the concept of blogging. Upon reading numerous blogs, it triggered something inside me as I always was an avid writer in school and university but had forgotten this pleasure due to work and life pressures. Instantly, I started my own blog and wrote articles on issues that affects our society in general. As my reader base grew, I felt an urge to experiment with different forms of writing. So, I started with a poem and got a good response. This encouraged me to concentrate my efforts on writing more poetry and eventually it became a natural progression.

Once this passion was kindled inside me, I truly aspired to become a good poet and then the inspiration just came from within.
I published my first book on poetry named “An Ode To Life”

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My first poetry book “An Ode to Life” received good response and was very well appreciated by both the reader and the media as I was interviewed for it in local newspaper of Bahrain.

This in turn ignited my passion further and I found the confidence and courage to write my second book “Unanswered Verses” which was a collection of poems that strives to capture the varied emotions of life in its rawest form. It aims to indulge the reader in asking questions pertaining to the three entities that govern our lives. Namely the mind, the heart and the soul. To my surprise, this book got incredible success and was really well received; even more than my first book. I felt I as if I was on the moon and had found my true calling. After that I never stopped writing and have recently released my third book named “Mixed Bag: Short Stories” which is a short stories collection and as the name suggests it caters to various types of literary genres namely Children’s, Drama, Romance, Horror, Thriller, Crime, Supernatural and New Adult. This book too was featured in the newspaper of Bahrain and is receiving some rave reviews

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three qualities that were most impactful in my journey was patience, determination and passion. For folks who are early in their journey, I recommend the above three qualities and also to never give up on your dreams even though you may come across darkness sometimes; there will always be light at the end, if one is resilient

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

When I first started writing articles form my blog, I was very skeptical about its success. When I posted my first article, I didn’t get many views and almost wanted to give up but that’s when my mom and dad supported me and guided me to move forward and not stop writing. I posted a new article every week and slowly and surely, my reader base grew
