Meet Talifa Isgandar

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Talifa Isgandar a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Talifa, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?

Being the only one in the room used to feel intimidating – but over time, I’ve learned to see it as a strength, not a setback. When no one else looks like you, you become very aware of how you show up. I’ve learned to trust my voice, to prepare twice as hard, and to speak with intention.

It’s also taught me how to read the room in ways others might not – how to notice what’s not being said, and how to build real connections even when I start as an outsider. I don’t try to blend in anymore. I know the value of bringing a different perspective, and I’ve seen how powerful it can be when you stay true to who you are.

Now, I walk into those rooms not just to take up space, but to create space – for others like me who are coming next.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m the founder of B2BB Startup Studio, where I bring ideas to life – especially the kind that challenge the status quo. I focus on building startups in AI, wellness, beauty tech, fashion, and life sciences. What I love most is creating things that not only look good but actually make a difference in people’s lives.

Right now, I’m really excited about two of my main projects. One is BeeWelly, a fun and vibrant vitamin gummy brand designed for people who want to take care of their health without it feeling like a chore. We’re getting ready to launch in the UAE, which is a huge milestone. The other is NUA, an AI-powered skincare app that helps people figure out exactly what their skin needs and suggests personalized programs and products. Think of it like a smart beauty coach in your pocket.

What makes my work special is that everything I build comes from a place of care. I’m always thinking about how to make people’s lives easier, healthier, or just a little more joyful. I’m not into trends for the sake of it—I want to build things that last.

I’m also passionate about supporting other founders. Through B2BB, we’re building an angel investor community to help more bold ideas from this region get the support they deserve.

For me, this isn’t just business—it’s personal. I want to create things that feel good, do good, and inspire others to dream bigger.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

When I think about what’s helped me most on this journey, three things come to mind: resilience, thinking strategically, and storytelling.

Resilience has been my anchor. There were tough moments – things didn’t always work out, some doors closed, and there were times I felt like I didn’t quite fit in. But I kept going. That consistency, even when things felt uncertain, really paid off. For anyone just starting out, I’d say: don’t be afraid to fail or hear “no.” Just keep showing up and learning as you go.

Strategic thinking helped me turn big ideas into something real. I’ve always had a creative mind, but learning how to organize chaos, make smart decisions, and break goals into actual steps – that changed everything. My advice? Get comfortable with planning, adjusting, and thinking a few steps ahead. It’s a skill that will support you in every part of the journey.

And storytelling – this one is huge. Being able to share what you do and why it matters in a way that feels real and exciting… that’s how people connect with you. Investors, customers, partners – they all respond to a clear, honest story. So even if you’re just getting started, talk about your idea, write about it, and practice telling it like it matters – because it does.

At the end of the day, it’s not about being perfect. It’s about being real, learning fast, and staying connected to why you started.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yes, absolutely – I’m always open to collaborating with people who are passionate and driven by purpose. I really enjoy working with founders, creatives, investors, wellness and beauty experts, or anyone who’s building something meaningful and wants to make a real impact.

If you’re someone who’s curious, values fresh ideas, and isn’t afraid to do things a bit differently – I’d love to connect. Whether it’s a potential partnership, a shared project, or even just an inspiring conversation, I’m always open to seeing where things can go.

Feel free to reach out on LinkedIn or get in touch through B2BB. I love meeting new people who are on a mission.

Let’s see what we can create together.
