We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Talisa Durso. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Talisa below.
Talisa, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
My passion for the culinary lifestyle has always been embedded in me. Creativity grew off that allowing me to use the plate as my canvas and food a work of art.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
New York Native, now Florida Resident exploring the yacht culinary seas, catering flair, private chef services and making connections with people, places and culinary culture.
My passion is for the culinary world is an on growing movement always adding to my portfolio.
The next expansion for my career is to create a book of my culture through the food I grew up around with the twist of Italian and Cuban flavors & the stories behind it.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My 3 key elements:
1. Take risks – it opens doors for growth and opportunities.
2. Strength – never give up and always see things through.
3. Passion – give it your all and success will follow.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Assess whats important. Control what you can and let the rest sort itself out. Things always have a way of working itself out. Never sweat the small stuff. A clear mindset sets the tone. Go to your happy place, mine’s the beach.
