Meet Tamara Fayad

We were lucky to catch up with Tamara Fayad recently and have shared our conversation below.

Tamara, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

I’ve worked through imposter syndrome by doing a lot of inner work like journaling, meditation, and affirmations. I kept showing up even when I didn’t feel ready, and over time that consistency built real confidence. Believing in myself didn’t happen all at once, but pushing through and trusting the process made all the difference.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I lead a private fitness and yoga business, SFL Yoga & Wellness—also known as Tamara Fayad Yoga. What started as just me running around South Florida teaching every class I could has grown into a team of 20+ incredible instructors. Today, we offer private yoga, fitness, and wellness classes throughout South Florida and now Savannah, GA as well.

We specialize in private experiences including yoga, Pilates, sound meditation, high-intensity workouts, and more. We love working with local residents, corporate teams, and visitors who come to enjoy everything our cities have to offer.

At the heart of what we do is the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the benefits of yoga, fitness, and wellness—even if it wouldn’t normally be their first choice. This is especially true for corporate teams, where movement and mindfulness can be incredibly impactful. What makes us special is that we bring a studio-quality class directly to you—whether that’s your home, office, or one of South Florida’s beautiful beaches. Every class is fully customized to create an experience that feels accessible, empowering, and enjoyable, whether it’s a fun yoga session for a bachelorette party or a grounding class to help teams unwind and reset.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three things that have been most impactful in my journey are resilience, marketing, and a strong foundation in yoga and fitness. Resilience helped me keep going during the early days when things felt uncertain or overwhelming, and marketing allowed me to actually get my work in front of the right people. Having deep knowledge and confidence in yoga and fitness gave me the credibility to grow and lead others.

For anyone early in their journey, my biggest advice is to keep pushing forward and truly believe that you can do it, even when it feels uncomfortable. Learn as much as you can about your industry, both the craft itself and the business side, and don’t be afraid to say yes to opportunities, especially in the beginning. Showing up consistently, staying curious, and trusting the process can take you farther than you think.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

I feel overwhelmed a lot especially wearing so many different hats. When that happens, I try to slow things down and give myself permission to pause. Taking time to reflect, reset, and create a little space for myself helps me regroup and come back feeling more grounded and clear-headed. Even small pauses make a big difference.
