Meet Tamarah Francis

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tamarah Francis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Tamarah , thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

I’ve learned that I am a value asset and that I bring just as much to the table as everyone else around me . This mindset took time because I suffered from imposter syndrome and sometimes I still struggle with it . I fought negative thoughts by educating myself , research , and always striving for excellence and integrity . I’ve also learned that it’s ok if I don’t have all the answers. Transparency goes a long way. So, no matter who is in the room with me , I’m fully aware of who I am and what I am capable of . I stay in my lane and area of expertise.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I founded Centerstage Education and Consulting in 2017 because I observed so many children slipping through the cracks in the public school system.I observed that learners who were neurodivergent or had learning disabilities often lacked the opportunity to learn in ways that were most beneficial for them. I am a former educator in the public and private school system and I love all things education. So , it is imperative to me that all students get the opportunity to explore how they desire to learn. Centerstage is educational resource hub for all things education. We serve our community by offering tutoring , IEP consulting , Parental Consulting , and our biggest program which is our Microschool that was birthed during the Pandemic.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. Confidence
2. Humility
3.Initiative

My advice to anyone in the earlier part of their entrepreneurial journey is to always be willing to learn and grow. It’s important to learn how to take constructive criticism and apply it to your journey. It’s also critical for you to understand that just because you may receive a no doesn’t mean someone else won’t say yes . Everyone won’t believe in you our vision so link up with the people that do. It’s your job to find those people . Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

We are always looking for individuals or organizations to partner with us . You can partner with us by considering to give to your Nonprofit Organization. Our program thrives heavily on donations and grants . You can visit our website at Centerstageeducation.org/donate to give and partner with us .
