Hi Tameshiaye , you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?

My generosity comes from my heart,it’s always been one of my strongest traits. From a young age, I naturally fell into the role of nurturer as the oldest sibling on both sides of my family. With an age gap of 5 to 9 years between me and my siblings, they became my first loves, and loving them taught me how to give selflessly. Being there for them and others around me became second nature, and as I got older, that love extended beyond family to friends, and even to strangers in need.

I’ve always believed that material things hold little weight compared to the impact you can make on someone’s life. My outlook has always been that if I have something that can help someone else, why wouldn’t I share it? That belief has guided me through many situations, from letting people borrow things to opening my home to those who needed a safe space or had nowhere else to go.

But my generosity has also been shaped by life lessons. While I’ve always had a big heart, I’ve learned the importance of being wise with it. There were times when my kindness was taken advantage of, and those betrayals hurt deeply. However, those experiences didn’t stop me from giving; they simply taught me to give with discernment.

Ultimately, my generosity comes from my belief that blessings aren’t meant to be hoarded,they’re meant to be shared. I truly believe God placed that desire in my heart, and it’s something I carry with me in everything I do.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m incredibly excited about the expansion of Bbutterflyhair in 2025! My mission has always been centered on promoting healthy hair and empowering people with the knowledge to care for it. Natural haircare is a journey many women are interested in but often don’t know where to begin. To bridge that gap, I’ve launched natural haircare workshops that provide one-on-one sessions to help individuals understand their unique hair needs and create personalized routines. Additionally, I offer online courses and eBooks to make this knowledge accessible to a wider audience, helping people embrace and care for their natural hair confidently.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three qualities that have shaped me into who I am today are my ability to adapt, my creativity, and my empathy. I believe the key to improving these qualities lies in truly getting to know yourself. These skills are versatile and can be applied to any situation, not just one specific industry. They are also essential for becoming a great leader. After all, most people are striving to become experts or leaders in their field, and these qualities are fundamental to achieving that.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

For me, God has been the most essential in helping me overcome challenges and develop the skills, qualities, and knowledge I needed to succeed. While I’ve had amazing people come into my life who physically taught and guided me, I believe it was God who aligned our paths so I could gain the knowledge I needed. I’m often amazed at how incredible ideas are placed on my heart and mind, and I trust that God will equip me with the tools to bring them to life. He has always kept His promise: if He gives you the vision, He’ll provide the resources to make it a reality.
