We were lucky to catch up with Tami Enfield recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tami, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
I think my generosity comes from a place deep down. If I were really to dig deep, it was probably formed from a place of survival as a child. My younger self thought if I gave someone what they needed, they wouldn’t leave me.
As I’ve grown more emotionally aware, my generosity has come from a more grounded place. We all have a need to belong. With the tools available to us now, compared to what we had even ten years ago, I find that connection and belonging can be accessed now more than ever. Everyone can find their people, or their place, in a corner of the internet. My core value of generosity sits really close to my desire not to leave anyone behind.
I have owned my brand consultancy, Brand Yourself, since 2011. Over the years, I have found that competing in a digital marketplace is not for the faint of heart. Not only will some activities drive prices down, but some marketers take advantage of clients who don’t know anything about digital marketing and are able to charge a lot for very little results. The result of this is a lot of bad, inauthentic content and unengaged consumers.
This drives me bananas…
This is one of the problems I’m trying to solve as a conscious marketer. Let’s educate business owners and consumers on what the power of social media is. Let’s create a better environment for users to find connection and belonging. My value of being generous is what helps me to understand that not only can we bring others along on our journeys as creators, but that social media users have the ability at anytime to find their soft corners of the internet and feel less alone.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’ve held many different titles over the last decade of business ownership: Founder, CEO, Digital Marketing Strategist, Brand Strategist, and most recently, I’ve decided my genius is in storytelling and brand development. Helping business owners/entrepreneurs stand out in front of their brands to tell their story and help others is what lights me up. Story is what connects us. By helping my clients authentically connect to their audience, we can co-create connection and belonging for social media users. This will ultimately improve the culture of social media and make these platforms a much better place to hang out.
To help me achieve this goal, I’ve created a framework called the CANDID Content Framework™. This framework teaches creators a formula for writing content that authentically connects with their audience AND makes them, as the creator, proud of what they are producing. By considering both the consumer and the creator for each post, we guarantee the content is authentic. Consuming authentic content can not only ensure brand engagement but also create a real connection between thought leaders and their audience.
Launching the CANDID Content Framework™ has been an adventure. I’ve developed a digital course that will be ready to sell in March 2024. I’m working on a podcast, and am writing a book about how powerful authentic content is. I’m also taking on thought–leaders as consulting clients to help them authentically expand their brands and grow their influence, impact, and income by using story to build their brand and connect to those they are best positioned to serve.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
One quality that I think is absolutely vital when building a business is resilience. You need to be able to bounce back from failure quickly. Another that goes along with this is your ability to make quick decisions- and a lot of times, this means being able to trust your gut when opportunities arise. To answer your question, I can say that I am resilient, intuitive, and very self-aware. Entrepreneurship is, if nothing else, a crash course in self-development. You really get to know yourself and what it is you’re capable of when you embark on this journey.
Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
Every business owner and thought leader needs social media to grow their influence. Someone who understands the power of social media would be the right candidate for Brand Yourself and the CANDID Content Framework™. This person has the desire to share their story to prevent others from making the same mistake they have or to fast-track them to the other side of their problems. My clients have the desire to spread light, not darkness, to grow their platforms. My ideal client also understands the power of authenticity in content. They are willing to share stories about themselves to show empathy and support for those they are looking to serve.
