Meet Tammy Ford

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tammy Ford a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Tammy, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

Honestly, I believe that we all have confidence and self-esteem challenges that are on-going. You have to put yourself out there and have a positive attitude while doing it. Doing it over and over again will give you knowledge of what works and what doesn’t and it’s what will propel you forward.

A perfect example is this: I post something on line and it is a hit and I feel great and then the next post is not as well received and then I am down on myself. That I believe is the challenge to over-come. Sometimes it’s a struggle and in the end I choose to focus what I am sharing and what I found joy in.

Bottom line: Don’t compare yourself with others. You will have a different perspective and others do as well and there is always room for beautiful work!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am a FAA Certified Drone Operator and I live in the San Diego area. I purchased my drone in 2023 and since that time I have flown for a wedding, Baptism, couples shoot, local artist and business needs, land and family documentation and birthday celebrations. It’s been fun and exciting! I have great prices and custom packages for all needs. I can provide photos and video from different and unique perspectives.

I have a new website and I will be selling prints soon! The website is new and right now it showcases some of my work, along with pricing and a contact page. I’m hoping to launch in July!

I live in a beach area and what could be better than some aerial photographs of the ocean, surfing and other views of the San Diego beach areas on your wall!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Don’t compare yourself and your work to others. You are unique and talented and will have a different perspective.

I continue to make connections with people with likewise talents to learn and help each other grow. I am part of a drone group, we support each other, help each other and give advice as needed.

I continue to learn and trying new things. Stepping out of my comfort zone helps me to grow in my field.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

They gave me a strong work ethic. I do not quit. I learn from my mistakes and hope to never repeat them. That has served me well in all of my endeavors.
