Meet Tammy Taylor

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tammy Taylor. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Tammy, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

As a survivor of domestic abuse., it took me many years to find my purpose. I was in a place of confusion and depression. I spent many years feeling unworthy. I was able to mask those feelings and functioned with a smile on my face but deep down I was hurting. It took me feeling like I had nothing left and turning to prayer, which made me see that everything that I went through was for a reason. It is for me to reach back into my experiences and lift women up. Which is why I founded the Weight We Carry Women’s Initiative, Inc. a 501 C3 nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women find a true sense of self.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am an award winning Full-Figured Curvy Model, women’s empowerment and body positivity advocate and author.

I am the Founder /CEO of “The Weight Carry Women’s Initiative Inc”. A 501c3 Non Profit Organization. Our mission is to serve as a resource to empower women by igniting a transformative journey that cultivates a profound sense of self-worth. We are dedicated to helping women thrive professionally, economically, and personally through a wide variety of initiatives and programs that encourages them to actively pursue their aspirations. 

I am currently signed with The Lyngale Agency (TLA). As a model, I have the opportunity to promote confidence and positivity for women of all sizes.

I was also blessed with the opportunity to co author a book titled
A Love Story Vol 2; My Journey to Love.
The chapter titled “The Love I Found “ talks about how I overcame domestic abuse and truly began to walk in my purpose. This is a project I am very proud of because it allowed me to turn my past into something positive.

It is my ultimate goal to use my brand to uplift, encourage and inspire women of all backgrounds to embrace themselves and love themselves unconditionally.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I would say the most Impactful skills for me is effective communication Meaning, not only the ability to get your point across, but the ability to listen and comprehend feedback

Another one would be adaptability, being in this industry, everything changes constantly, and you have to be able to adapt and reinvent yourself to remain relevant.

Being coachable is also important because you don’t know everything. No matter how skilled you are there’s always room for improvement.

My best advice would to be to find A mentor because you don’t know what you don’t know. so to have someone in your corner that has gone through what you’re trying to get to is invaluable.
Also stay true to yourself being flexible and being adaptable is one thing, but don’t ever lose who you are and never forget why chose this path

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

There are several projects that my nonprofit are trying to get off the ground at this time and I’m always looking to collaborate with women who can help us empower others. I’m currently looking to partner with recruiters, HR managers or staffing services to help develop our education and employment initiatives.
