We were lucky to catch up with Tammy Von Nordheim recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tammy, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Growing up as a shy girl, teased for wearing glasses, having crooked teeth, being too skinny, and living in the country, I struggled to find my voice. Being deeply empathic and sensitive to others’ energy made it even harder. I often daydreamed about success, but self-doubt loomed.
Becoming a Therapist, Mindset Coach, and Mortgage Lender required more than skill—it required belief. I had to learn to speak life into myself before I could empower others. I wasn’t competing with anyone else; my dream was my race to win. And I chose to win. Again and again.
When imposter syndrome crept in, I built outlets for growth. One of those became Girl in the Glass, a women’s empowerment group where I helped others heal, find their voices, and say, “I can do this.” Seeing women transform confirmed what I knew deep inside—my gift was real. My purpose was solid. And I was exactly where I was meant to be.
Now, I don’t just help others break barriers—I show them how to shatter them.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a licensed mental health therapist, mindset coach, and mortgage lender, but my work goes far beyond titles. My passion is helping women find their voices, own their power, and say, “Yes, I can.”
From a young age, I understood what it felt like to battle self-doubt, to feel unseen, and to question my worth. Overcoming imposter syndrome, trauma, and setbacks made me who I am today—a woman determined to uplift others. That’s why I founded Girl in the Glass, a women’s empowerment group where women come together to heal, grow, and celebrate their victories.
What makes my work special is the holistic approach I bring—combining emotional healing, mindset shifts, and financial empowerment. As a mortgage lender, I help women and families secure financial freedom, breaking generational cycles of struggle. As a therapist and coach, I help them rewrite their inner narratives, build confidence, and step into their purpose.
What’s Next?
I’m continuously expanding my reach—through coaching programs, speaking engagements, and new initiatives that elevate women personally and financially. Whether it’s through therapy, coaching, or homeownership, my mission remains the same: to help you break barriers and build the life you deserve.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The Three Most Impactful Qualities in My Journey
Deep Emotional Intelligence & Intuition
Understanding what is being said in the silence, sensing what a person needs, and recognizing emotions even behind a mask—these abilities have shaped my work. They allow me to connect with others quickly and create a space where they feel seen and validated.
Advice: Develop this by actively listening, observing body language, and tuning in to people’s unspoken emotions. Practice empathy by putting yourself in others’ shoes.
Lifelong Learning & Curiosity
As an avid reader and someone who loved school, I constantly sought knowledge. My degree in Psychology and Master’s in Social Work laid the foundation, but my real growth came from an ongoing hunger to learn and apply new insights.
Advice: Read widely, seek mentorship, and embrace challenges as learning opportunities. Stay open to evolving perspectives.
Empowering Others Through Coaching & Validation
Helping people intentionally care for themselves, manifest wins, and give themselves grace has been incredibly rewarding. My ability to hear what’s unspoken and respond with validation allows transformation to happen.
Advice: Practice self-awareness and self-care first. You can’t pour from an empty cup. Then, focus on uplifting others by acknowledging their struggles and strengths, showing them what’s possible.
For those starting their journey—stay curious, trust your intuition, and never underestimate the power of genuine connection. Your growth will transform not just you, but everyone you touch.
How would you describe your ideal client?
To the Strong Woman Who Feels She Can’t Stop—This Is for You
You are the one everyone depends on. The overachiever. The perfectionist. The “strong one.” The one who always has the answers, the solutions, the support—yet rarely receives the same in return. You wear your superwoman cape like it’s stitched into your soul, showing up for everyone, pushing forward no matter how drained you feel. The idea of pausing, of resting, of simply being feels foreign—maybe even impossible.
I see you. I understand you. Because I’ve been you.
You’ve conditioned yourself to believe that your worth is tied to your productivity, that stopping means failing, that slowing down means losing momentum. But what if I told you that true strength isn’t in doing more—it’s in knowing when to pause, reset, and realign?
As a Therapist, Mindset Coach, and Mortgage Lender, my purpose is to help women like you make sense of your relentless drive. To uncover the deeper reasons behind your “go hard” mentality and show you how to embrace grace, balance, and self-care—without guilt.
God gave me this gift, this wisdom, this calling—to help women like you heal, release, and find freedom beyond the grind. If you’re ready to step into a version of success that includes peace, fulfillment, and true joy, I’m here to guide you.
You don’t have to carry it all alone. Let’s do this together.
