We were lucky to catch up with Tanisha Henry recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tanisha, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My resilience come from my faith. I believe we are no different then the most successful humans in the world. Most of us have the ability to work hard and persevere through any test that may be thrown in our path and manage to continue to move forward. Yes it takes tenacity to become successful especially if you are in charge of your own success, however your faith of seeing something so clear that isn’t visibly there take resilience to continue to move forward to manifest the unseen.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Tanisha Henry I am the CEO of CRISP WATERMELON DRINK, LLC. Going from making your favorite drink in your kitchen to actually seeing it in the grocery store is surreal at times. It takes time, patience, perseverance and plenty of prayer to continue to move forward everyday.
We at CWD, LLC develops, distributes and sells beverages made from fruit without any additional sweeteners or other ingredients. The beverages are a healthy alternative to numerous products that contain sweeteners and artificial ingredients. CWD, LLC markets the beverages under the brand name Cu’i (pronounced “swee”) and distributes the products to retail stores, such as Food Lion, Sevananda Natural Foods, and soon to be Kroger. Cu’i is also available on Walmart.com.
Cu’i (sweet) fulfills an unmet need for a low-calorie, nutrient dense drink for consumers to maintain a healthy weight. Research studies demonstrate obesity and diabetes epidemics are associated with consumption of beverages with high calories and sweeteners.
Consumer demand for nutrient-dense beverages is growing in part due to the public consciousness of the relationship between diet and health. We are here to offer a delicious healthy juice to the world called Cu’i (sweet) Watermelon Drink!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Being patient through each process of the journey has been well mastered at this point which allow me to persevere no matter how tough things may get or seem.
Not giving up during the time when it looks like things are not going to work and you get in a standstill mode and trying to figure out the best step to take next.
Last but not less skill I have learned on this journey to success is learning how to take a step back and regroup when things seem to not work and also to put the right people in place to be able to accomplish the ultimate goal which is becoming a household name brand.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
I have to give God the glory for placing such a wonderful task on my path. I also have to give credit to my business partner and my whole team. They are the people that keep me on my toes and give me great hope that we can and will succeed no matter what. Your team can make or break you so picking the right people to be part of the journey that has just as much tenacity, skills, qualities and knowledge then you do is the biggest blessing and the great part of our success.
