Tanisha, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I spent years searching for my calling. It was only after the devastating loss of my husband that I found my true purpose: to support widows through their grief. I channeled my own pain into my first book, hoping to connect with and comfort others. The overwhelming response – people asking me to help them publish their own stories – inspired me to create my publishing company.

As a ghostwriter, publisher, and travel writer, I combine my passions for writing and travel. I share my experiences through travel writing, offering recommendations on destinations, dining, and activities. This month, I rebranded my business as Exclusive Publishing by Tanisha Mackin, formerly Tanisha Mackin Publishing. We are a luxury publishing company providing clients with a VIP experience and expanded services to guide them through the entire book process, from ghostwriting to marketing.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three key elements shaped my journey: my writing ability, my organizational skills, and my capacity for empathetic listening. I believe anyone can enhance their gifts through dedication and continuous learning.
Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
I thrive when working with clients who are ready to invest in their book, respect our partnership, and are receptive to suggestions. I value a collaborative process and appreciate when clients trust my creative vision, with their final approval, of course.
