We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tannya Iza. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tannya below.
Hi Tannya, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
In 2017, I had joined a multilevel marketing company. I didn’t know the work that had to be done in order to be a part of a company like this. The type of self-discipline and belief that one had to have of themselves to make it. The leader I had with this company was very on top of reading self-help books and having us attend workshops that would help retrain our brains and let go of the stories we had for ourselves. Once you do something long enough it tends to stick. It is what happened to me, till this day I make sure that I surround myself by a lot of positivity and stay away from anything that wants to take me out. I continue to read, even reread some of the books I have read. I watch motivational videos and a lot of church services online to keep me lifted.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a licensed massage therapist and esthetician. I specialize in Sports Therapy and Prenatal massage. I love to know that I can assist in the healing process of someone who is experiencing all sorts of pains. As an Esthetician I enjoy making people feel the best in their own skin. There is just something so special at the end of facial service when my client looks at themselves in the mirror and just say “wow”. My client’s satisfaction with any of my services provided keeps me on a high. Recently I was able to add another therapist to practice who is sure to deliver the same feeling for massages and I just can’t wait for how far we will go. Valentines’ day weekend will be her start day, I’m sure everyone will love her just as much!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three areas that I feel are very crucial to making it in any business I would say are: self-discipline, knowing that there will be difficult days, but difficult days lead to amazing opportunities and last staying on track. With self-discipline it is to do all the things that most of the time we don’t feel like doing like going over budgets, making sure the Calander is up to date, setting up those meetings and so much more. Personal life does get in the mix of the business life and learning how to manage these two can be challenging especially if there are kids involved. Which leads me to my second point, I am a single parent of 3 daughters and difficult days are always around me. It is very important to keep feeding yourself with positivity and encouragement. It is very easy to lose track and get lost in what is in front of you that you lose focus of the goal. A bad day isn’t a bad life, reading, meditating, praying, watching videos or attending services that will provide the motivation to keep going is essential. My last point is staying on track, sometimes with all said above leads to this. Now things happen all the time unexpectedly and that’s ok, it is ok to reroute… it is ok to reroute 5 times. Just don’t forget the end goal, it doesn’t matter how long it takes to get there as long as you get there.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my mother has done for me is dream. My mother always had a dream of owning her own restaurant and she would go to different places and sell food on the weekends and every time there was a party my mom would be the first one to offer catering services. Her passion for cooking and doing whatever it took to get close to her dream was inspiring. When she passed away, I wanted to live out her dream for her unfortunately although I love to cook as much as she did and it was something that united us, having a restaurant was more of a nightmare than a dream for me. Which led me to finding my own true passion and execute to make sure my dream does come alive.
