We were lucky to catch up with Tanya Carson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Tanya with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My strong work ethic is definitely something I inherited from my Dad. I remember growing up watching him, and he always instilled in me the importance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. He consistently demonstrated these values through his actions, showing me that success isn’t just about luck; it’s about putting in the effort and staying committed to your goals, no matter the challenges. This foundational influence has shaped my approach to work and life, teaching me the value of resilience and the satisfaction that comes from a job well done.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I have several endeavors that I am proud of. First, I have built two local/family oriented magazines in the Clarkston and Lake Orion areas. I love telling stories about local families, highlighting kids achievements whether it’s sports, academia or their passion. Local businesses have the ability to share the expertise with the community in written articles and stories of their own. I also share local events and recipes, animal adoptions, etc. Anything happening in the community each month if what I share.
Second, myself and my business partner launched a new business recently called NeuroXcel. It is a brain based therapy that can help with brain trauma, concussions, chaos training, fall risk, autism, etc. It’s new and exciting and I just want to do things that are for the good of everyone. If I can help others, it makes me feel fulfilled.
Third, I am very involved in my community. I sit of several Boards in the area and will be President of the Clarkston Chamber for 2026. Anything I can do to give back to others, is my kind of passion.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities would be resilience, don’t let one bad day stop you. Keep moving forward and grow. Lastly, be kind to everyone. You never know who you are speaking with and how you can impact their life.
My advise would be to find something you are passionate about. If you truly love it, you can make anything happen. I have given this same advice to my son growing up. Find your passion – find a way to make it a business/career. If you love what you do everyday, it’s never just a “job”. You will be successful if you always take the positive road and journey.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am always looking to collaborate and/or meet new people. I love meeting business owners, new and experienced. They both have a different perspective on life and business. I want to hear their stories, their successes and their failures. That’s how we all learn.
As for NeuroXcel, we all know someone that this technology can help. Whether it’s a car accident head trauma, your son playing school sports, your brother or sister is in law enforcement or the military and would benefit from chaos training and better reaction skills to save lives, to an aging family member that may be a fall risk or suffering from vertigo or early dementia, I would welcome a conversation with anyone wanting to learn more. I have websites and contact info available.
