We recently connected with Tara Baig and have shared our conversation below.
Tara , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
When we are children, it seems like the world is our oyster. We have no cares in the world. Throughout our years of development… we start to go through what we call “life stages.”
Throughout my own life…. I’ve gone through several stages of feelings when it comes to my own confidence and self-esteem.
I have BEEN the really fit, healthy and active girl…. but i have also been the extremely overweight and teased girl. That’s just one example.
I’ve been through many different things in my life (good and bad) that have shaped me into who i am today: A Confident Woman.
I really have learned that the way people treat you is truly based on your own self-esteem. I’ve learned from looking back at my own life and reflecting that the way i treated myself and how poorly i used to think of myself really did affect my life and all of my relationships.
I eventually became a Therapist. I learned so much from my clients. Ironically, while I was helping them, they also helped me.
I really think my experiences have helped me blossom into the woman that i am today.
Being healthy, positive, honest and most importantly: being my self… was how i developed my confidence.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Tara. I am the Owner of Auracle: World of Crystals. My store is a Crystal and Mineral store that also includes many Gift Items/Accessories as well. I am proudly born and raised here in Houston, Texas.
My life before this store was different. I was working as a Licensed Therapist. I have my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and I went to graduate school and received my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. So with that being in my past, I opened my store because of my Passion for Healing and Helping Others.
My true goal was to create a safe space for people of all backgrounds to be able to come together to explore their own energies in a place that is safe, positive, full of light and full of love…and not to mention: FULL OF GEMS!
I take so much pride in all of my products. I say this because I confidently know where each and every rock comes from. I personally choose everything myself and very carefully; so without a doubt, everything is Ethically Sourced! I offer high quality stones that come from truly and quite literally all over the world.
My hope is to be able to help every single person that walks through my door through their Spiritual Journey.
Every few months I like to hold classes/workshops/events in my Store. This is a great way to be able to connect with others and also gain some knowledge about crystals.
Thank you to all of you who have entered my “Home” and are supporting me on my way to fulfill my biggest dream.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Vision and Passion: Having a clear vision and a genuine passion for the business you are opening is crucial. A strong vision provides a sense of direction and purpose, guiding your decision-making and inspiring others to join your venture. Passion fuels the energy and determination needed to overcome obstacles and navigate the challenges that arise. It helps you stay motivated during difficult times and encourages others to rally around your mission.
Adaptability and Resilience: The business world is constantly evolving, and unforeseen circumstances and challenges are honestly inevitable. Being able to adapt allows you to navigate changes and setbacks effectively. Flexibility in adjusting strategies, products, or services based on market demands or emerging trends can help your business stay competitive. Resilience enables you to bounce back from failures or setbacks, to learn from them, and continue pushing forward.
Empathy: Having empathy is crucial for running a business because it enhances relationships, improves decision-making, fosters employee engagement, and promotes customer satisfaction. Having Empathy allows business owners to understand and connect with their employees and customers on a deeper level. By putting yourself in others’ shoes and genuinely understanding their needs, concerns, and perspectives, you can build trust, foster open communication, and establish meaningful relationships.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am always open to looking for Local Artists to consign in my store! While I am very particular about what products I have in here, I am extremely open to collaborations!
If you think you have products that would fit in my store, please connect with me!
