Meet Tara Durden

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tara Durden. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tara below.

Hi Tara, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
Self-care is HUGE for me and my business. The concept of self-care can range for everyone but for me specifically, it’s practicing yoga, breathwork, meditation and grounding techniques (especially outdoors in the grass or sand). Self-care has allowed me to keep an open mind, stay calm and also tune in internally. I love being able to support myself and my company when evolving both personally and professionally. I notice such a difference in prioritizing self-care now versus before when it stayed on the back-burner.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a Functional Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist specializing in women’s health. I have worked with hundreds of women over the past decade, struggling with hormonal, energy and digestive issues using a functional and sustainable approach to optimize overall well-being.

I originally dreamt of becoming a Speech Pathologist but realized that didn’t feel aligned with my professional goals. The opportunity to become a Registered Dietitian slowly surfaced. As I was going through my own hormone and gut healing journey, I had the opportunity to learn about helping women struggling with these same issues.

Using a functional nutrition approach, I was able to optimize my hormones and gut health after years of chronic dieting and birth control use. Now feeling the best in my body that I ever have (even as a new mama with another baby on the way), I am passionate about helping you feel YOUR best. I guide and support you during your whole body healing journey.

A few recent updates and offers:
I’m currently running over $100 off my functional specialty testing bundles. Please reach out for more information!
I am also a contributing author in the book Quantum Wholistic Healing releasing September 13, 2023. Read all about me and over 20 other authors in the health and wellness space.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1) Consistency. Consistency is something that I am thankful for. Looking back a few years ago when I first started dabbling in the world of small businesses, I expected SO much more out of myself and my company. Once I realized that being consistent led to better traction, I held onto it! 2) Connection. I’ve always loved to connect with others whether it be through yoga, food or something along the lines of wellness. Without continuously reaching out and being open-minded to new opportunities, I don’t think I’d be where I am today.
3) Acceptance. Accepting that the world, you and your business will constantly evolve. Sometimes it’ll be more beautiful than others. There are no doubt bumps in the road, but keeping an open-mind and accepting whatever season you may be in is the best thing you can do.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
