We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tara Fox a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Tara, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Well I didn’t wake up confident.. I built it.
My confidence and self-esteem were forged from a painful past, lots of trial and error, and a medical journey that taught me one thing above all else.. Is that time is precious. Why waste it dwelling on things out of your control, when what you can control is creating something to better the world we live in, something bigger than yourself, that can better you, while helping others along the way. In a nutshell, that is what I feel we are all here to do. Have passion, and the rest will follow. Doing the work when no one else is watching provides that sense of purpose from within me, not from the satisfactory of anybody else, but from my own sense of fulfillment. Through my art, while experimenting, failing, refining, and showing up anyway no matter what, I learned resilience. Every photoshoot, every concept, every risk putting myself out there—wether that is posing in front of a crowd of people or around public areas, climbing to different, dangerous, yet daring locations, spending hours at one spot, than moving to another, and taking all of my own photos added another layer of self-trust to my work. Over time, that self-trust became my self-esteem. I became a machine behind the name RoboFox.
Confidence is the quiet certainty of knowing who you are, what you stand for, and moving forward without needing approval. My company and alter ego, RoboFox, stopped seeking validation and began creating from an unshakable sense of purpose and conviction. When I aligned my art with my values, confidence followed naturally.
I also reframed fear. Instead of seeing it as a warning, I recognized it as proof of growth. I learned fear is nothing but False Evidence Appearing Real. Confidence wasn’t built by avoiding discomfort, but by moving through it. If I let fear hold me back, RoboFox would not have been born, and if don’t put my foot forward, I will regret it. So instead of just being a dreamer, I became a doer.
Most importantly, I learned this truth…No one grants you confidence—you authorize yourself.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a published professional model, art director, and the founder and CEO of my company, RoboFox—an independent creative studio and brand built at the intersection of fashion, music, technology, and storytelling.
My background spans nearly every art form. I’m not just a model—I’m a musician and singer, editor, designer, storyteller, and writer, with advanced experience in cinematography, music video production, and film festivals. I’ve won short-film awards, designed album covers and logos since my teens, created music and mashups, studied dance and choreography, and work across painting, drawing, and graphic art. Everything I touch turns into some form of art—whether it’s food, cocktails, interior or exterior design. I care deeply about how things look and feel for me; they have to resonate with my aesthetic. Even my gift wrapping gets the full treatment (Ha!). While I play piano and other instruments, I don’t play guitar the way my dad does (Oz Fox of Stryper)—despite popular belief. He taught me much of what I know in art, touring, and music, but guitar never stuck. Instead, I learned nearly everything else, which creates a strong balance when we collaborate and support each other.
At its core, RoboFox is about bringing ideas to life with intention. I don’t just model products or create images; I build worlds around them. Every project begins with a concept—often inspired by music, emotion, or a futuristic narrative—and evolves into a visual story through photography, styling, lighting, and post-production. My role spans from creative direction to execution, ensuring each piece feels cohesive, immersive, and emotionally resonant.
What excites me most about my work is the ability to transform merchandise, fashion, or art into something that carries meaning beyond the surface. I focus heavily on visuals and atmosphere, giving each collaboration its own identity rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. RoboFox isn’t about trends; it’s about creating imagery that feels timeless, cinematic, and intentional—something that people can remember and connect with.
Professionally, I collaborate with musicians, record labels, brands, and creatives who value strong visual storytelling. RoboFox operates as both a creative partner and a brand, allowing me to support others while also building my own original IP. I’m deeply involved in every stage of the process, from concept development and visual strategy to final delivery, which allows me to maintain creative integrity across all platforms.
Looking ahead, my focus is on expanding RoboFox as a storytelling platform—developing new visual series, refining brand partnerships, and continuing to build original concepts that merge art, technology, and emotion. I’m also preparing for upcoming events and collaborations in 2026 that will further push the boundaries of what RoboFox represents.
At its core, RoboFox is about purposeful creation, a strong visual presence, and building something distinctly aligned with the future ahead. It’s a reflection of who I am as an artist and leader—intentional, forward-driven, and rooted in authenticity.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I’d say the three things that had the greatest impact on my journey: clarity of vision, self-trust through execution, and adaptability.
First, clarity of vision:
Understanding who I was, what I wanted to create, and why I was creating—it changed everything. Early on, I spent time observing—not just trends, but what genuinely moved me. I did this for the first half of my life and in my creative career. Once I stopped trying to fit into existing molds and committed to a clear point of view, my work became stronger and more recognizable. Most of what I created early on was inspired by the dreams I had as a kid—visions of futuristic worlds, flying cars, stories untold, and technology. I didn’t understand why those dreams kept coming, only that they fascinated me. My dad helped shaped those things into my creative outlet early on introducing me to music and artistry—elements I later blended into visual storytelling, forming the foundation of who I’ve become.
Advice: Spend time defining your values and creative voice. Don’t rush this part. Don’t do it for fame or attention—create because your ideas are waiting to be set free. Do it for yourself—not for external approval. Keep creating what moves you into action. Internal clarity leads to confident action.
Second, self-trust built through execution:
Confidence didn’t come from praise—it came from doing the work when nobody else was watching. Showing up consistently, experimenting, failing, refining, and returning to the process built real self-esteem. Even through rejection, I kept going. The key is to never reject yourself. Every finished project, even the imperfect ones, strengthened my belief in my own capabilities.
Advice: Create often and finish what you start. Momentum and skill are built through repetition, not perfection. I’d say always do something a little different each time to see how far your limits can take you as well. With technology constantly changing, it’s important to evolve with it.
Third, adaptability and willingness to evolve:
My journey hasn’t been linear. I’ve had to pivot, learn new tools, take on multiple roles, and evolve alongside technology and culture. Being open to change allowed me to grow without losing my identity. Being adaptable opened me to new perspectives, allowing my art to evolve into the layered, meta form it ultimately became.
Advice: Stay curious. Learn continuously. Adapt without abandoning who you are. Growth doesn’t mean starting over—it means expanding.
For anyone early in their journey, my biggest advice is this: build from the inside out. Focus on clarity, discipline, and resilience before seeking external validation. If you commit to the process and stay true to your values, everything else will follow in time—and that authenticity becomes recognizable, whether you intend it to or not. If you aren’t being yourself, you risk losing yourself. In art, authenticity and identity have to go hand in hand.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes, I’m always open to partnerships and brand collaborations.
I’m especially interested in working with future-forward, innovation-driven brands and artists—particularly those operating at the intersection of technology, music, fashion, and culture. This includes electric vehicle and tech companies, artists shaping the sound of tomorrow; electronic and rock artists, and brands whose visual identity leans futuristic or experiential. I’m also drawn to apparel lines and immersive brands, both domestic and international, that value strong storytelling, design, and atmosphere.
What I bring to the collaborations I choose is a fully realized visual vision from my RoboFox universe. I understand the aesthetic language of each collaborator and I translate that into cinematic visuals that elevate merchandise and branding beyond traditional marketing. I’m most aligned with partners who think long-term, value originality, and want to create something distinctive rather than follow basic trends.
Those interested in collaborating can connect with me through my official RoboFox channels, website, or social platforms. I’m always excited to explore partnerships that align creatively and push boundaries in meaningful, visionary focused ways.
