Meet Tara Gush

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tara Gush. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tara below.

Tara , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I didn’t find my purpose in one of the many textbooks, certifications or degrees I completed. I didn’t find my purpose in one of the many hours of yoga training I completed. I found it in some of the darkest chapters of my life, in the moments of my marriage that mirrored a childhood chaos I swore I would never repeat. I found it in those moments where my inner knowing knew and yet I still chose not to listen. My purpose wasn’t “found”…..it was revealed over time, through years of holding my breath, trying to control addiction, abuse and emotional chaos that wasn’t mine. My purpose was revealed when I finally realized I was suffocating, when I crossed the Colorado border amidst my month long solo road trip and took what felt like my first deep breath ever amidst a solid ugly cry.

My purpose continues to be revealed through breathwork, meditation and movement which have become more than “practices” – they have become portals, portals to remembering who I am at my core and outside of survival mode. As my purpose continues to unveil itself, I am honored to create spaces for others to come home to themselves, to feel, to move, to breathe through the fires of their own life and to rise in their own power.

I am grateful to have turned pain into purpose, now teaching others to do the same – one breath, one boundary, one bold decision at a time.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Today I guide powerhouse women – especially those who lead in business, family or life – through transformational breahwork, meditation and somatic movement to help them Get SHIFTED. My work is grounded in neuroscience and soul, with a trauma-informed lens and a bold, sassy voice that says: we don’t have to burn {out} to create impact. We get to lead from alignment and ease. Through my signature Get SHIFTED 1:1 coaching, group breathwork experiences and retreats, I help ladies who lead regulate their nervous systems, set sacred boundaries, reconnect to their bodies, and lead from a place of embodied power. It’s not just a healing, it is an awakening. It is truly about remembering what it feels like to be fully alive.

What brings me the most joy is witnessing the moment a woman takes her first deep, conscious breath – the moment she realizes she doesn’t have to hold it all anymore. That is when SHIFT truly happens. Currently, my brand is expanding in new aligned ways. I am hosting my third cohort for my 25 hour SHIFT Breathwork Training in August and am launching my first SHIFT Method Breathwork Facilitator Training the sfall – a soul led certification for leaders, coaches and creatives who want to integrate breathwork into their own offerings. I will continue to offer retreats and other immersive experience such as my Wildly Nourished Co-Ed Retreat in Colorado this October as well as Corporate Coaching, workshops and key note speaking.

Whether you’re craving clarity, healing or simply a space to land and breathe – I’m here to guide the SHIFT. This work is truly my soul contract.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three most impactful qualities that shaped my journey were emotional resilience, intuitive empathy and the ability to turn pain into purpose. I grew up in a chaotic home witnessing abuse, addiction and the emotional roller coaster of loving people who didn’t how to love themselves. That kind of environment can lead to shut down or rise up – and for a long time, I did both. I felt everything deeply as an empath and didn’t know how to carry the weight of it all or how to set boundaries. Despite the chaos, my father’s work ethic became part of my DNA – and later, I was able to pair it with healing, breathwork and inner work to create the kind of strength that is no longer about survival but about sovereignty.

My advice for anyone early in their journey……Start by honoring your sensitivity. Being an empath is a superpower when you learn how to protect your own energy. Learn nervous system regulation. This is a game changer and the anchor of literally everything. Understand and honor your boundaries. Get curious about your patterns without judgement or shame. Surround yourself with humans and practices that remind you of your worth on the days you forget.

The journey will never be easy, but it will always be worth it.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Absolutely- I am always looking to collaborate with heart-led, purpose-driven humans who are here to create real impact. Whether you’re a wellness leader, coach, real estate leader, trauma-informed educator, CEO, creative, entrepreneur, studio owner or someone curating transformational spaces – I am open to collaborating on retreats, workshops, corporate wellness experiences, and co-led community events.

I am especially drawn to partnerships that center around embodied leadership, nervous system health, breathwork integration and creating bold, soulful spaces where women can come home to themselves. If you’re someone who values authentic, expansion, and deep impact (with a little sass and soul) we are probably a good match!
