Meet Tasha Gray

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tasha Gray. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Tasha, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

When I first got into real estate I really struggled with finding my footing and confidence within the industry. I definitely do not look like most female realtors in the industry. I’m a little funky, full of color and love! I joined the women’s council of realtors to help me find other women to connect with. It was tough at first because I couldn’t afford some of the fancier real estate things and like I shared, I am a little funky! This is where I really learned to lean into the confidence of my own skills and ability to adapt and learn and grow! I joined the women’s council in 2021 to now be the 2024 President! Where I am still learning and growing but in different ways! I found the confidence within myself of knowing that I lack nothing and I can do hard things as long as I show up, apply myself and stay kind! Confidence is the inner knowing of who you are, your integrity and knowing exactly what you bring to the table!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a Realtor. Though I don’t do the normal buying and selling; which confuses most humans. So to start, I’m an ex-paralegal of 10 years! When 2020 hit, I decided to take a chance and study to do something different in my life. I initially wanted to only be part time but the universe had other plans! I eventually ended up diving head first into real estate where I quickly learned that I needed to be adaptable and the importance of showing up! This is where I learned that I could take the skills of being a longtime paralegal and apply that to being a transaction coordinator! Once this opportunity was present to me, I was able to run with it and really thrive for sometime! During 2020 I also gained more confidence to start showing up online where I started doing more videos on platforms like tik tok and instagram! This was something that really helped me within my local real estate community! I also learned that creating content and sharing online is something that brings me joy!
All of these avenues of opportunity lead me to the position I am in now with Weichert Realtors Image as their Community Broker and Client Relationship Manager where I am able to merge all of the things I love such as organization, community and social media! I’ve been with Weichert for over 2 months now and it has been fabulous! I am looking forward to the further growth that myself and the company will have!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Fond what brings you joy!!! Then find a good mentor to help you make a plan and show up for yourself day in and day out! You won’t always know the answers, you won’t always feel like you’re progressing but the trick is to just keep showing up. Because little progress over time adds up to big things!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I am always open to learning and growing and collaborating! If anyone needs help in real estate or with social media, I am always happy to help, listen, find answers, be a sounding board and more! The more we can connect with each other the better off we all are!
