Meet Tatanisha Cranshaw

Hi Todd,

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. We’re looking forward to going live with your interview soon. Just wanted to share your responses below if any changes are needed, please let us know within the next 3-4 days.

We were lucky to catch up with Todd Dean recently and have shared our conversation below.

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tatanisha Cranshaw. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tatanisha below.

Hi Tatanisha, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
While also grasping that boundaries are healthy to have with your own self when wanting to be be generous I will welcome the fact that generosity has been a key to my prosperity.

My parents have always been an example of how generosity is important. I am blessed to acknowledge that I was raised with a true village. My Mother, Father and God-Parents worked together to give me memories and experiences filled with love, ambition and focus. All different personalities and walks of life but between those 4 I saw the generosity they provided silently. In my opinion, as a child,  generosity looked like volunteer work, providing rides to someone walking in not so great weather, covering an expense or handing out $2 bills to see someones face go “wow”. It was all of the little things that added up.

Never did I ever see or hear of my parents expecting something in return and that was my learned lesson. There was never a moment where a negative emotion was expressed because they felt that their “good deed” went unseen and that is because their generosity came from their heart.

I enjoy knowing that something I choose to do [silently] could make someones week or maybe just a day. When you can bless others because it feels right then you open the ability to receive and accept blessings for yourself!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

As my full time career I advocate for my clients to achieve their goals while delivering exceptional result. The public hire me to sell their current real estate property or purchase their next real estate investment as seamless and as profitable possible. The support I recieve from my brokerage Monument Realty has been pivotal for my exposure as a REALTOR®️ that people seek me out to hire me to advocate for them. A significant number of real estate agents have walked away from the industry in the last year because this career has its high times and low times and I am sure some of them will return but I have remained a full time agent through the different markets, I am now working towards obtaining my brokerage license and I am optimistic to be starting a team in the next 6-8 months. It’s time for that uncomfortable action of change to elevate me towards my own goals. I am nervous and humble like any other individual stepping into their next pivot but I have faith in myself that by taking each day as it’s own that 2024 will be my best year to date. My financial security, romance, mental and physical health, self management and systems will catapult me into a life where I am abundant in continuous success.

Ok I got a little sidetracked because I am excited but a few key qualities everyone wants from the business’ they hire to work for them is good communication, professionalism, trustworthiness, performance/results, negotiation skills and marketing/networking abilities. The people that hkre me tell me I have these qualities but I remain humble about them because with every real estate transaction you learn something new. I believe being humble keeps me on track to be a respected real estate agent in the areas I work and the fact that challenges that need a quick solution happens often in real estate but we have to stay on our toes and learn from it. It’s a beautiful curse but personally always being able to challenge my skillset is a perk of the industry. This industry is not for everyone, I sometimes think you have to be comfortable with random chaos lol but I am here to last and I look forward to guiding other agents to be high quality advisors the public looks forward to working with.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

A few qualities and skills I have kept with me on my journey of growth are having respect for myself and others, having versatility and believing that being uncomfortable is where I learn to thrive. Having versatility about the company I keep has been an impactful quality I learned from my mom Roxanne. My friends and close associates have career titles and money management skills that range significantly and for that I have been taught beneficial things and have been provided opportunities that have created seasons in my life that have polished me and gave me experiences that help me help others.. Within my various groups I have learned different ways to show my respects for their experiences while learning ways to find solutions for my own choices. All of these qualities go hand in hand for me and no I don’t have any children to share this with but I have some amazing nieces and nephews that I hope listen to me and take some guidance from me. They told me I was cool so we will see how ling that last lol.

One thing I hope I can show others is to be genuinely interested in what someone else knows, speaks about or feels and it may not seem like a big deal, but for some people knowing someone is listening to them means everything. We are in this world of microwave and poptart behavior and I do not like it but am guilty of doing it. I believe everyone desires to be heard and knowing someone feels safe enough to share a part of themselves is a nice feeling so my focus goes towards being in the moment with them.

Some advice I believe to be beneficial is that when you have questions, experience a win or need a possible solution is for you to talk about it with the person whose shoes you want to be in within the next 5 years. That person will understand where you are emotionally and you will absolutely need that mentorship to hold your momentum when times begin to test your resilience. I remember the first time an agent reached out to me for some guidance and it was the best feeling to share my thoughts and see their face light up and say “wow, thanks”.  I have agents who have been in the real estate industry 30+ years that I call and it is such a blessing to have that connection. This career is a marathon, not a race.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Ooo I love this question and the answer is yes, always! Property owners who need to sell their home or land is a favorite experience of mine to be hired for because I do not see too much focus on (first time) home sellers. I want to work for property owners who need maximum public exposure of their sale so they can move forward to their next chapter with the highest earning possible.

I have collaborated with folks from the cities of Chico, Forney, Cleburne and many other cities in between. My intention was to focus on being a listing agent while working in Crowley and the surrounding cities, but to have the opportunity to be hired by anyone anywhere throughout the state of Texas is a blessing I continuously recieve. Yes, I collaborate with both homeowners and home purchasers but Inventory in DFW can still be scarce and the real estate agent a home seller hires truly matters so you have to jump out the gate correctly or you’re property is going stale in a market full of ready and able buyers. Homeowners need the care and the tools to win in real estate and that is why I get hired. So call me today! We will start with a non obligatory consultation and customize a plan for you.

Thank you for this opportunity to put myself out there. This has been an exhilarating honor!
