Tatianna, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.

Ty Hester and I, Tatianna Tolliver, began our creative journey with humble beginnings and a vision to share our talents with the world, bringing genuine optimism and a glass half full mentality to every project. We didn’t just want to create cool brands and campaigns (although we love doing that); we aimed to bring deeper meaning to every brand, production, and campaign. We wanted our teams to be so excited and invested in Optimist’s vision that the journey of building was as rewarding as seeing the final product.

Both Ty and I were fortunate to have mentors and people in our lives who helped us make it to where we are now, and we feel a strong commitment to providing others with a platform to grow, learn and be inspired. Motivated by the generosity we received, we strive to live generously in both our personal and professional lives. Generosity isn’t always financial in fact, it often means believing in what others are building. When clients bring us a project, it’s our job to nurture and realize their vision. Our generosity of creativity, passion, and spirit transcends any budget or external resource, unlocking new possibilities and accomplishments. This mindset and commitment has allowed us to provide premium visual experiences for brands and artists.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Embarking on a creative or entrepreneurial journey requires a unique blend of essential qualities:

Thick Skin and a Soft Heart: Handle criticism and rejection without taking them personally while maintaining empathy and compassion. This balance is so essential to maintain both resilient and authentic.

Grit and Tenacity: Persevere through obstacles and stay committed to your goals. These qualities help you to remain focused and motivated, embracing challenges as growth opportunities.

Generosity and Kindness: Build strong relationships and a positive reputation by approaching every interaction with kindness and a spirit of generosity. These traits foster trust, collaboration, and a supportive community.
