Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Taylor Adams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Taylor, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I love this question because it is simultaneously simple and complex. As I’ve navigated through life, I have felt, seen, and experienced many different versions of myself. These versions have all been cultivated by my age, season of life, and desires I had in those periods.
My purpose has changed throughout these versions and was not always clear, even sometimes seemingly far-fetched. I have many passions in life, including but not limited to music, fitness, sports, real estate, relationships, and faith. It’s funny because over the years, every time I thought I “found” my purpose, life has thrown a twist that completely changed it. It’s almost as if purpose it what you are providing to the world in the present moment, only to eventually look back at all that you’ve accomplished and given, that was more than just “one” purpose.
I have found purpose in every job and hobby I engaged in. Whether it was writing music as a passion, where I thought if my lyrics could resonate to help one person feel less alone, my heart was filled – or by working in professional sports I could inspire other young women to feel confident that they could not only work in a male dominated field, but also thrive, And now presently, working in real estate have given me purpose to educate homeowners who are buying their first home, second time buyers who have started a family and need to upgrade, or even providing support for a family who is going through divorce and is working through a difficult shift in their living situation, All of these seasons of my life, while incredibly different, have provided me purpose to give back, ultimately feeling fulfilled.
I think that’s the beautiful thing about purpose. It’s not always linear and sometimes much deeper than surface level to find. No matter what I do or where life takes me, I have found that it’s less what about I am doing, and more about how I can take what I have and give it purpose.
Right now, being in real estate has given me the ability to help others, grow new friendships, and significantly find purpose in myself and who I want to be not only as a loan officer, but a friend, daughter, sister, future wife and mom. Where this will take me, I’m not sure, but I am whole heartedly along for the ride.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
As a Residential Mortgage Consultant, I not only make it a priority to understand your needs but am determined to curate those needs into the most optimal financial opportunities for you.
Whether you are purchasing a new home or refinancing a current property, I am passionate about making sure my clients are informed each step of the way,
while also celebrating their new adventure!
Formerly a luxury sales representative with the NFL and NHL, I desired a new challenge and entered the mortgage world by way of my mom, who has been a loan processor, originator, and underwriter since I was a child.
With a wealth of family experience and my attention to detail from the fast-paced sports industry, I am able to evaluate the needs and wants of my clients to make sure they achieve their financial goals in homeownership. I hope to translate my passion for the mortgage industry to my clients and build a network based on trust, integrity, and the values I was raised in.
I provide virtual, phone, and in person consolations to anyone who is interested in buying real estate. I also host many events that help educate buyers and individuals in the industry on the current market and loan products that may benefit them.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Communication, branding, and self-discipline are the three qualities that I think were most impactful in my journey. To this day, I still practice these to grow and improve them, as they have been the foundation of building my business to where it is now.
Communication has allowed me to confidently have raw and sometimes tough conversations, but also build trust with my colleagues and clients. Strong and honest communication have prevented problems and is almost always responded to with respect and retainment of important relationships.
Branding is also a quality that is crucial in anything that you do. Understanding your values, who you are, and building a brand that is unique to you is what will help separate you from your competition and gain attention from those you are looking to work or connect with. A healthy balance of showing who you are, what is important to you, and reminding those around you of what you do will help develop a brand that people not only recognize and relate to, but also continue to follow and support you.
Self-discipline has been the hardest quality to maintain but also the driving force of scaling my business. No matter what I do, I go all in. This isn’t always easy, and honestly not always fun, but consistency and committing to the things I need to do in order to grow knowing what would come of it is what keeps me going. A lot of the time I can’t tangibly see how my discipline is growing my business but knowing that it will pay and has shown me time and time again to be true, is enough.
For those just starting, be kind to yourself and have short- and long-term goals. Keep your blinders on and be honest, try new things, and stay consistent even if you don’t see results right away. Surround yourself with likeminded people who are driven and want the same things as you. Be prepared to fail a million times, because you never know when you are going to get back up and finally turn the corner. I’m not saying it will be easy, but I am saying it will be worth it.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I am feeling overwhelmed, I try to find 3 things to stimulate my mind. One to be active, like working out, going on a walk, or a sport. One to be mindful, like reading, listening to music/podcast, or diving into my faith. And one to be creative, like writing music or singing or cooking.
I also tend to make lists and prioritize what I need to do and when on paper. I find when I can physically see what is overwhelming me and write out how I can tackle it, I feel better.
Lastly, taking care of my body through sleep, nutrition, therapy, and time with family/friends always helps with being overwhelmed and calming down.
