We were lucky to catch up with Taylor Cotton recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Taylor with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I’d like to think I get my work ethic from different challenges I’ve faced in my adult life.It has helped me prepare and grow into the person I am today!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Hello,I am a hairstylist focused in hair growth and protective styling like braids,twists,cornrows,and natural styles as well.My goal is not just for my client to leave with a cute hair style but to leave with a style that is prefect for their hair type and that can start the hair growth journey rather than damage.I also sell a hair growth oil with several natural herbs and oils that lots of my clients use to get the results they desire for their natural hair!When it comes to doing hair,I use braiding hair that is safe and not harmful for my clients health!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Patience, education, and determination have been the most impactful parts of my journey.In the beauty industry, you never stop learning;whether it’s new techniques, skills, or staying up to date on sanitation and industry standards.
One thing I’ve learned is: don’t compare yourself to others. Everyone’s work started somewhere, and nobody’s journey is perfect. Focus on your own growth, stay consistent, and keep practicing.Don’t give up on your dreams, because that drive will only push you further and open doors you never imagined.
