Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Taylor Foster. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Taylor, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I got my resilience from God and watching my mother be a single parent and survive as an individual while providing for me and doing her best to spend time with me when she could.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Taylor Foster and I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. On top of being able to gain and complete all my education requirements in my hometown, I have also been fortunate to perform & play football at a high level in our city & state which helped me gain the connections, support, and opportunities that I needed to have in order to walk the path that I am on today. I am currently a Talent Acquisition Partner at one of the largest nonprofit health care organizations that is operating in the state of Michigan. This career path has been so exciting to me because it allows me to be the better version of my mother & father in positive manner and it allows me to help connect the surrounding community to pathways and opportunities that will allow them to be better people and leaders in their individual worlds. I graduated from Davenport University with my Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management and an associate degree in Business Administration. I plan on using my knowledge, work and life experience to develop structures and workshops that will continue to help other human resource associates and students throughout our Michigan education system grow and develop more throughout their careers in order to keep working in team settings effectively and helping other members throughout our community so that they can also reach their full potential. I also wanted to be in Human Resources because of the inspiration that I gained from watching my mother work as one of the top hair stylists and interior decorators in the state of Michigan, I felt that working in the Human Resource & Business industry would allow me to design business structures and ideas that would genuinely help people and make people feel good after their work day or week like I seen my mom do for her clients.
When I am not working out, developing recruiting tactics for my team or creating business structures for organizations surrounding our community, I produce writings in my spare time that have shown results of not just helping me mentally & physically on my individual path, but it has also helped my, peers and up & coming Generation Z members. The reason I started journaling and creating messages which are now known as Wolf Talk Messages (which can be searched and found on Instagram @wolftalkmessages) was because I realized the more I saw & experienced the more I recognized how much I was beating the odds that were put against me from personal life’s trauma, fulfilling past promises that were once lost daydreams through my personal trials, and I recognized that overcoming my personal roadblocks from choices & life’s test influenced my peers and members of Generation Z around me in a positive and an impactful manner.
Surviving this human being experience is not easy especially when one lacks the knowledge or character to make certain decisions, and that is why I created Wolf Talk. Wolf Talk is a foundation built on wisdom & a structured lifestyle that helps people achieve their goals, work & collaborate with others to produce positive results, and it has shown to help people obtain & maintain their heart desires. Wolf Talk was formed to produce results.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities that have impacted my journey:
1. My personal relationship with God and my spirit,
2. My ability to adapt, adjust, and be coachable.
3. My drive to live right and not giving up on doing the right things even when it is hard to do.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
Someone that has been helpful to me on my developmental journey as a young man is my best friend Eric Oltean. It takes friendships, a team, and family to reach success, to win championships, and to make certain moments feel worth it, and Eric has played roles as a friend, a family member, and team member on my personal path. I feel that our friendships portray the beautiful balance of life in a way and that we need each other to survive and thrive in this human being experience.
