We recently connected with Taylor Gladmon and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Taylor , great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
I developed my ability to take risks by understanding that I won’t fail if I don’t try. For me, taking risks is about letting my faith be bigger than my fear. This mindset has been essential in building Midas Moving, and it continues to drive my approach to business.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
What I find most exciting about what I do is seeing our accomplishments unfold. At Midas Moving, we’ve recently expanded our services to include home staging and have had the privilege of delivering furniture for HGTV shows. Our long-standing relationships with interior designers and the new opportunities that continue to arise are particularly fulfilling. This year, as we expand our warehousing services, we’re planning to offer storage solutions for our interior designer clients and will soon be providing extended storage options for our moving clients. It’s an exciting time for us as we continue to grow and meet the needs of our clients in new and innovative ways.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I believe that resilience, adaptability, and networking have been the most impactful qualities in my journey. My advice to those early in their journey is to focus on developing resilience by learning from setbacks, honing adaptability to navigate changing circumstances, and building a strong network of connections within the industry. These qualities have been instrumental in my growth, and I believe they can greatly benefit others starting out.
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
“Atomic Habits” has been a pivotal book in my development. One of the most valuable insights I’ve taken from it is the concept of the “1%. Rule”. This idea emphasizes the power of small habits in creating lasting changes in your life
“The 12 Week Year” has also been essential in creating focus and clarity on what matters most, establishing a sense of urgency to act now rather than later. Both books have significantly shaped my approach to personal and professional growth.
