We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Taylor Hall a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Taylor, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
The environment that I was raise in, the experiences that I gained as an athlete, and the faith I have in God have taught me a lot about how to embody resilience.
I grew up in a household where failure wasn’t an option. I was taught early on by my mom and dad that obstacles were inevitable and it would be my choice to either cave in or fight through and overcome challenges in sports, school, and life.
One of the biggest challenges that I had to overcome, was battling through an eating disorder at an early age. I was a competitive swimmer for 13 years of my life, but around age 11 I developed anorexia and had to take a break from exercise and sports all together. When I look back now, I can’t believe that I was so young and had such a bad relationship with food, but overcoming this challenge from an early age, set me up for success when I tore my ACL during my college basketball career.
I had already gone through a ‘traumatic’ experience with my eating disorder, and knew that I was able to come out of that situation, so much stronger both mentally and physically.
I took the same mentality into my ACL recovery journey, and after two back to back tears, I was able to return back to playing high-level college basketball. Now I take these experiences and carry them into my daily life and my career as a personal trainer and entrepreneur.
I know that challenges will arise along my journey to becoming the ‘MJ of Fitness’, but no challenge is too big when I have faith in God and all the confidence in the world to overcome all battles through Him.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My mission is to energize and unite women through shared sweat and real community. Over the course of this past year, it has become my life goal to grow my Girly Pops fitness community to a global level through events and online fitness experiences to help women embrace their individual strengths and break through traditional boundaries.
Every Thursday night at JLT Performance Gym in Hollywood and on Saturday mornings at various outdoor locations, I gather my Girly Pops Community to workout alongside each other in a challenging, exciting, competitive, and energetic environment. Then, three times per year, I throw large scale events at Neuehouse in Hollywood that highlight these weekly women only workout gatherings and to exemplify the magic that occurs when women workout together, network amongst one another, and travel through life together.
These rooftop events highlight my ‘Tay Method: 4 Quarter Approach Workout’ along with special appearances by various women owned business vendors, meditation and visualization activations, empowering speeches, live music, competitions and giveaways, and so much more!
TAY’s Girly Pops Fitness empowers women to build strength and confidence together. My next big event will be holiday themed held at Neuehouse in Hollywood on December 7, 2024 and will be our 5th and largest Girly Pops Event thus far! We are thrilled to be expanding to Neuehouse in New York during summer of 2025, more details on this expansion will be coming soon!
For Girly Pops who are not local to LA, we have opened a Facebook group to allow women to chat about fitness, life, business, and connect in person and online! Follow @tayhall_ and @girlypopsfitness on Instagram and join the Girly Pops Facebook groups to stay up to date with this powerful and strong female community unlike any other.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Hard word, persistence, and confidence have been most impactful for me along my fitness, business, athletic, and life journey. I would advise everybody to set a goal, generate small, and attainable steps to reach that large goal, stay consistent on your path, be confident in every step that you take, and stay in your lane. The more confident that you are in yourself, others will follow, and believe in your mission to greatness!
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
As a lifelong athlete and NASM certified personal trainer, I am looking to partner with brands who share my mission to energize women to unlock their potential through fitness, community, and meaningful connections, and I would love to extend the offer to carious wellness, fitness, and lifestyle brands to collaborate alongside my ‘TAY Girly Pops Fitness’ community!
You can connect with me via Instagram @tayhall_ or through email at Taylor@tayhall.com. I look forward to building an empire of strength with you!
