We recently connected with Taylor Kelly and have shared our conversation below.
Taylor, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
I overcame imposter syndrome by shifting my mindset from self-doubt to action. I realized that many people hold themselves back from success because they’re waiting to feel ‘ready’ or ‘qualified.’ The truth is that you grow into your capabilities by doing the work, not by waiting for validation.
For me, the key was to just start whether it was launching a new project, pursuing a career milestone, or taking on a leadership role. I reminded myself that consistency is the secret to mastery. By showing up every day, learning from mistakes, and staying focused on my goals, I gradually built the confidence to trust my abilities.
Another turning point was recognizing that even the most accomplished individuals feel like imposters at times. That insight helped me embrace my unique journey and value what I bring to the table. Instead of comparing myself to others, I focused on staying consistent and persistent in my efforts and that mindset has made all the difference.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Professionally, I wear a few hats. Currently, I serve as the Senior Director of Communications at Ritani, where I manage brand partnerships and major media initiatives. I thrive on creating meaningful connections between brands and their audiences through strategic storytelling and impactful collaborations.
Beyond that, I’m deeply passionate about my own entrepreneurial venture, Eventful ATL, an Atlanta-based events brand. We specialize in hosting creative workshops that bring people together through unique, hands-on experiences like caviar tasting, candle-making, and flower arranging. What excites me most about Eventful ATL is the joy and sense of community it fosters; it’s about creating memories and giving people an opportunity to explore new interests in a fun, approachable way.
We’re also expanding our mission with something close to my heart: a collection of S.T.E.A.M.-focused workshops designed for students. This initiative brings creativity and education together, empowering the next generation with skills and experiences that inspire innovation.
This year marks Eventful ATL’s first anniversary, and to celebrate, we’re launching two at-home experience boxes; one for candle-making and another for self-guided caviar tasting. These kits are perfect for anyone who wants to bring a piece of our workshops home or share them with friends and family.
What I’d love folks to know about Eventful ATL is that it’s not just about the events; it’s about the connections we build and the inspiration we spark. Whether you’re a seasoned creative or simply curious to try something new, we’re here to make every moment special. Keep an eye out for more exciting updates; there’s always something new in the works!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are adaptability, consistency, and vision.
Adaptability has been essential because life and business rarely go as planned. Being open to change and willing to pivot when necessary has allowed me to navigate challenges and seize unexpected opportunities. For those starting their journey, I’d recommend embracing uncertainty as part of the process and staying curious. Learn to view obstacles as opportunities to grow, and don’t be afraid to try new approaches when the old ones don’t work.
Consistency has been my secret weapon. Success doesn’t happen overnight. It’s the result of showing up every day, even when motivation wanes that matters. Whether it’s building a brand, advancing a career, or launching a project, consistent effort compounds over time. My advice here is simple: set small, achievable goals and commit to them daily. Celebrate the small wins and trust that progress adds up.
Finally, vision has been my guiding star. Having a clear sense of where I want to go, even if the exact path isn’t clear, keeps me focused and inspired. For those early in their journey, I’d suggest taking time to define your ‘why.’ What excites you? What impact do you want to make? Write it down, revisit it often, and let it shape your decisions.
Above all, be patient with yourself. Growth takes time and every step. Even the missteps teach you something valuable. Stay adaptable, consistent, and aligned with your vision, and you’ll be amazed at how far you can go.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Absolutely! At Eventful ATL, collaboration is at the heart of what we do. As we continue to grow and expand in the new year, we’re actively seeking passionate and creative individuals to join us as instructors. We’re looking for people with unique skills and expertise who can lead new and exciting event topics, whether it’s in the arts, food, wellness, or other hands-on experiences that bring people together.
