We recently connected with Taylor Vacca and have shared our conversation below.
Taylor, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
When reflecting on my BOLD (Believe, Observe, Love & Dream) Journey, resilience is not simply something we “get,” we have to give the effort; and maybe this could be why it is considered controversial to the conventional? What I am trying to say is becoming resilient is a choice, not a consequence of circumstance, a critique of character or even the case of early childhood countertransference conditioning. Resilience is having active (not passive) awareness of bias (just another word for belief), intentionally bridging the blind spot between bias and belief by observing the behaviors of self, society and our systems and choosing deliberate communication (i.e. love) intended for collaborative comprehension and common connection, whether in calmness, crisis, or too often these days, both combined. And why do we need to dream? Well, dreaming is kind of what makes the world go around… like, literally. If humans didn’t dream, both during sleep and out in society, innovation (easy i.e., the iPhone) wouldn’t be a recognized concept throughout the centuries of history we have. No dreaming, no communicating, no loving… no belief, at least for me. That is why I choose to be resilient.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am an experienced Executive Health Care Consultant across private, public, clinical and community-based settings. As a competently trained clinical mental health counseling professional, Adjunct Professor of psychology at Southern New Hampshire University, Subject Matter Expert AI Trainer and current PhD Candidate at National University & EMBA student at Quantic School of Business and Technology, I am dedicated to helping individuals and institutions coming from any and all walks of life, acknowledge and achieve their full potentials and reach their personal and professional goals.
I was truly humbled this year to be recognized by the prestigious Marquis Who’s Who in America as an Honored Listee. This is limited to individuals who embody professional integrity, inclusion, exhibit outstanding achievements in their respective fields and have made a significant impact. As a soon-to-be NetworkTal Trainer, my person-centered, culturally-sensitive, trauma-informed, psychoanalytically-focused approach helps explore life goals, reach desired development and subjectively-experience the levels of social engagement and enlightenment you are seeking. Whether desiring to explore satisfying and/or enhancing your quality of life, needing help to pass a psychology exam, or simply wanting more confidence in a new relationship or role, I may be the expert you are looking for.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
NEVER GIVE UP. Yes, I know you asked for three qualities, not three words; but this sentence actually serves as both. If you truly want something to happen, never give up; no matter how hard, how many hurdles, how bad it hurts… If you want it, never give up. Never represents the exercise of persistence. Give represents the engagement of effort. And up represents lightness and freedom in the evolution of humanity’s existence.
Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
Yes, being an organic, dyadic-dreamer in these days of artificial, digital obsession. As a female working in spaces male-dominated, I have been overlooked my entire professional life. For the last year, I have been reaching out to researcher’s across the globe with hopes of collaborating on a complex, but concise, comprehension of the Theory of Everything. Since beginning my PhD journey a little more than a year ago @ National University in La Jolla, CA pursuing a Doctorate of Psychology specializing in Gender & Sexual Fluidity, I started scientific synthesis into heavily “gendered” conditions in our culture, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) was a perfect match. Psychology quickly turned into Quantum Physics when my Supervisor challenged my views on Attachment Theory… and the rest is history; I truly think I have found “the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything,” even as to why the answer is 42. So here I am, calling all Scientists interested in changing this world; serious inquires only if looking to change it for the BETTER, to be precise (;
