We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tenice Holman a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tenice , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
My ultimate purpose is currently in process of fulfillment. It’s larger than business and more impactful than organization and design. My greater purpose is to demonstrate love and be of service to others. With that said, I found my current purpose helping others elevate their lifestyle through organization and spatial peace. In my early youth, I’ve always organized myself in all my personal spaces, and eventually learned to share that skill set with others. I learned to demonstrate and teach others how to maximize their spaces and learn more functional ways to live in their environments. My ultimate purpose in business is to give my clients the opportunity to create an environment that boosts creativity, focus, and balance in their lives.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Those who know me, know that I LOVE plants! I used to own over 30 plants before I relocated them to friends homes before a move. Two of which were featured on a national tv show, (I know corny, but I was proud! LOL). I enjoy nature overall and spending time in the presence of some of our earth’s best features. I am a consistent traveler and spend a lot of time in Costa Rica where part of my family are from. Lastly, I adore the beach, and the calming energy whenever I go. I am a native Cali-girl, but raised just outside of Seattle, WA. Throughout my youth I always knew I would come back to California, and ended up moving to Los Angeles in 2009. Since then, I’ve recreated myself a few times, ventured through many different work environments, professional opportunities, and met a few cool people along the way.
Being an entrepreneur to me is really all about self-discovery and self-development. I’ve learned so much about myself, my strengths and weaknesses, and what I am capable of. I’ve been empowered by so many individuals I’ve met along the way that have inspired and motivated me to continue my journey despite the hardships. Moving to Los Angeles with such a spectrum of opportunities and entertainment can really become a distraction. I feel it’s so important to plan your goals, and keep your eye on the prize. However, recently learning it’s ok if you need to pivot from time to time. Becoming the best version of myself in this lifetime is my main focus and intent. There are many areas in which I will achieve, and others perhaps not. But I’m grateful for the lessons and blessings I get to experience along the way.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, I’ve recognized the areas that have been incredibly impactful during my journey. First, seeking mentorship/coaching to help educate me in which skill sets to learn and develop will aid me in growing my business and myself. In addition, I attended all possible informative and educational events, meetings, and more, which gave me a variety of different tools. Although seeking education isn’t necessarily a quality persay, I find it extremely and equally important.
The three qualities I find most important to develop are:
A. Listening Skills. In my line of work, listening to my clients needs is the main source of information that will guide me in knowing how to package and manage the service I give them. Really listening out for their challenges and/or issues, helps put into perspective a plan that will assist them to reach their goals.
B. Confidence in what you have to offer. When sharing your idea, product or service, clarity is important. I can’t stress enough how many times I had an idea, and couldn’t quite put it into words to explain it to someone else. Understanding your vision and being clear with the ability to speak it confidently will go a long way.
C. Know Thyself! Creating an understanding with yourself and knowing your boundaries will go so far, not only as an entrepreneur, but in life. I had to learn many lessons when I didn’t honor my boundaries, and now my boundaries help maintain structure, and a level of self-care.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m always looking to grow and create partnerships and collaborations with like-minded individuals. I want to build and grow, not only my business but others as well. For the next phase, I want to partner with small cleaning businesses, moving/hauling owners, and creatives who want to expand and develop. The easiest way to connect with me is either a direct message, or via phone.
